i listened to some of the demo songs and do like the interface of the m42, but the new synth that currently is in beta seems tempting.

-can you disclose yet, whether the m51 will be more expensive than the m42 and if yes, by how much?

-will the synths be similar in sound? the reason for asking is that maybe if i want the m42, i shouldnt buy the m51 expecting it to be an m42 clone, right?

-is there a tentative release date for the m51? this year/ next year?

Well..the differance is that M42 has a SF2 oscillator, so if you like using samples, then M42 is your nebula,

However..M51 will be different. It will have Phase Distortion oscillators ( not SF2) 8 stage envelopes and a lot more.

We have not set a price yet on M51, as currently it is still in beta..but coming right along now!

Come on fabi, M42 is a wondefull instrument and I'm sure Tim will arrange the price for M51 for the M42 owners. Don't you, Tim?

hehe, yeah, i was thinking something like this to myself, but i did not dare start talk about m42-owner discounts in here.

that would just be shameless...

i'll have to see if i can stay strong long enough for the urge to buy the m42 to go away... if not, i'll just get it and maybe m51 later if i can afford it. won't be doing any of this until october, though, because right now i still need money for food...
