Hi Im trying to use Orange Vocoder in cubase sx or wavelab, is it possible to vocode your voice in realtime while you speak into the mic? if so can someone explain how its done step by step..I have been scratching my head for an hour trying to route signals and stuff, and the manuals havent helped much. Ive managed to do it once before but cant remember how, but I got a horrible feedback loop which just got louder and louder until I had to headbutt the pc and do something else.. :band2: :dog:

I took a sawtooth wave off this Pantomime4, looped it back, mixed it with the sound of this crab committing suicide and let it stew in its own reverb for about 3 hours, then I pumped it all out through this shoe to give it that oak'y timbre.

you need to have the vocoder as effect to your voice audio (or feed stereo audio with left channel as your voice and right as synth sound). Wavelab should have live input if I recall. Don't know how in Cubase you do the routing but it should be possible. to get rid of the feedback, insert i.e. gate effect to your mic input (or if you have mic preamp with gate, use that) and keep mic at distance from you speakers. Also disable hardware monitoring of the mic input so that only software does playback.
