First : Great plug !!
I am a sonar user and i have no problems with this plug in. I use Sonar 4.03 PE.
In the VST adapter dialogue, configure it as a "tempo based effect" and all is dandy.
If you want to set it up as a synth\ be midi triggered, configure it as a synth in the VST adapter...
THEN, when you use it in Sonar, you should not load it from the synthrack...but rather add an audio track, and right click its efx bin...THEN put in the plug as a synth..next, add a midi track and route it to the audio track with dglitch pathed in..that way the plug accepts incoming audio and you may midi trigger it.
Same procedure as with Devine Machine \ Lucifer...
another thing, Dblue :
Do you think you could set up a mailinglist or something ? to notify registered users that a new version is out ? I just stumbled upon it right now...and had to twaddle my email inbox to find the email download link
cheers

discrete:
Thanks for the Sonar tips. I think I'm gonna have to add a little section to the documentation to cover all this info, haha.
Anyway...
I have been thinking about a mailing list and to be honest I originally wasn't planning to do one. An RSS feed seemed like a more efficient and modern way to do things since there'd be no real problems with subscribing/unsubscribing, or out of date invalid emails bouncing back, etc, etc. And there's quite a lot of ways to access RSS feeds these days.. Firefox can pull the feed in as bookmarks, Thunderbird can pull it right into your email, there are several nice feed readers, etc.
But, I'm also still thinking about the email thing. Maybe I won't set up a traditional mailing list but I might send out email announcements or something like that. I mean, it does make sense really and I definitely want people to be up to date.
But yeah, I'm always thinking about new things and there'll definitely be some updates to the site coming up. The current website is really just a temporary thing until I've had time to do something proper. There's gonna be a whole new system coming at some point.

Okey Dokey...
By ways of a BUMP and a Thank You to dblue...
Im doing LOTS of testing with this MONSTER before I commit tracks so really Im learning this plug before I get down to the nitty gritty but - its just so much fun to automate. Things I wanted to do in FLStudio that took days and patience I can get done in moments and very often with extra unpredictable results
I gotta say dblue this has been the BEST purchase I have made (next to my Gretsch
) so Thank You very much. Im beginning to realise my ideas
So heres a couple of moments with the new update automated in FLStudio/E-FXPneumo4/Reaktor5...
dblueGlitch-Test2
Just a short piece and a Thank You!

Thanks again for the kind words, Dave. I'm glad the plugin is helping with your creativity and musical ideas. That's exactly why I made it in the first place - not just as an "instant IDM" plugin or whatever, but as something to kind of kickstart the creative juices, to help give you another perspective on what your music might sound like if effects X, Y and Z were applied in a certain way.
Even if the only thing a person uses Glitch for is to play around and get ideas which they will later accomplish with other separate plugins and manual tweaking, then Glitch has done its job.
A few people on other forums have been a bit quick to dismiss the plugin or, for whatever reason, ridicule and put me down for even creating it, even sometimes saying silly things like "this will be the death of IDM", etc., as if nobody has ever created anything even remotely similar before! Then there have been all the glitch/experimental music purists who have given me crap for even using the name "Glitch" in the first place.
All I wanted to do was make a weird little plugin that would mess up the sound, but do so in a controllable way. It's just kind of a drag that they're so quick to jump to conclusions I guess. I don't understand why some people feel so threatened by it or feel the need to just talk shit about it. I just view it as another useful tool to take advantage of, like any other nifty plugin a person might have to achieve a specific musical goal.
Anyway, all rambling aside, I just wanted to say that comments like yours (and everyone else on here who has been supportive) have made it worthwhile.
So cheers, and happy glitching!

Well as mentioned dblue - Im learning how this does what it does to my sounds... and its not taking me 2 1/2 days to try an idea anymore... Im not blessed enough to have a Warpesque cool & I dont have time for 3 days with bugs in a perspex box and call it art. Im trying to get these ideas out of my head and you are helping me!
I seriously believe efforts like yours should be applauded and in all honesty I hope you make a SHIT LOAD of ca$h from this... anyone that makes it faster/easier for musicians to realise their ideas should be well rewarded in my book!
Bashing this is just lazy - why not bash Smartelectronix for Buffer Override and Crazy Ivan or bash Heizenbox??? Some of my favourite plugs!!! Its a TOOL - use it lazy f**kers or dont... Obviously this little jem will make it easier to be lazy and sound good - if thats really your artistic intention
Oh well - the purists almost lynched Dylan when he plugged in...
Nah, f**k that - tell me which forums and I'll sort 'em out!!!
I personally CANT WAIT to see what crazy shit you come up with next!!!
PLEASE keep up the good work
Yours, a ' fanboy

if someone is stupid enough to think that a plugin can kill idm, so just let them talk, they do not worth that you care.
Or maybe they are sons of bank owners who can afford 3 macintosh laptops with the latest Reaktor, max, and have 24/7 time to spare on it to get a schematic-like sound...
I'm not, and you can be proud of your work.
That's right that could have not been called "glitch", but it DOES produce a glitchy sound, so why not ?
It is very good imo to put nearly all the standards of IDM in a single vst, because the time you can save reaching them all so easily you'll be able to find other ways to make music, new ideas, and make something else muuch more creative and new.
Since people think IDM is only some kind of mangled-stretched-trigged_ringy thing, they reduce music to a microscopic genre, and it is really bad !
keep on making right stuff the way you do !

hey dblue again
i've noticed some stuff ... glitch creates some really harsh noises randomly somewhere when its not in use ... before the use (in sequencer) and after the use (in sequencer)... and this seems to happen only when track is rendered to audiofile..
then i've had some other problems too.. it clips and shuts it self down and then the whole sounds shuts and i need to shut dblue glitch to get sound back
sincerely yours, your fl bugtester
and this happens only when rendered.

haha.. fruityloops has been a real pain in the ass these past few days. just when i think i've got one problem figured out, 2 more appear! evil.
well, i've been working on some updated code today which will hopefully *finally* stop that damn automation bug. i've been giving fruity all kinds of hell trying to automate as many glitch parameters as possible, making sure it handles it ok, etc, etc. fingers crossed it seems to be ok now, but i guess the proof, as always, will be in releasing it to the public.
i haven't personally experienced the rendering bug you mentioned. could you perhaps send me a fruityloops project which can recreate the problem, or maybe an mp3 of what it sounds like?
thanks for your patience, and my apologies for these annoying bugs!
i think i'm gonna go take a walk in the forest today and get my head clear, haha. i've been coding so much lately the world is starting to look like the matrix.

Glitch v1.2.1 beta is now available.
http://illformed.org/glitch/
This update doesn't add any new features but it does address some stability issues which were affecting Fruityloops (and possibly other hosts such as Cubase SX3, though I have not been able to confirm this yet).
Anyone using v1.2.0 or older who got the corrupt project error from Fruityloops or experienced crashes when parameters were automated, these should no longer be a problem and your old projects should load correctly (of course I'm sure I've just jinxed myself by saying that!).

Amazing plugin
best sound mangler I've got. An idea for the next version: spectral glitch! Split into multiple spectal bands and apply the effects differntly to each band. Would cane CPU but woul have to be the most messed up effect ever

Cheers!
I definitely like the spectral splitting idea. I had thought of something similar myself, something like a low/high pass filter, but sending the highpass result to one set of fx, then sending the lowpass result to a different set. I've done this kind of thing manually in the past in my own music and it can work really well sometimes.
Anyway, definitely a nice idea. I do not have the current Glitch code structured in such a way that I could easily add this kind of new feature (not to mention the fact that the GUI is already getting pretty bloated), but I am definitely planning to have some variation of it in the next major version that I do.
