Hi.
I'm gonna' be switching to Pro-Tools soon so will need a soundcard. I've seen some Digi 001'S going FOR £200.00 PT LE included, are these still a safe bet to use re. software. I am using win xp pro.
Cheers

Its not supported by the most recent versions of PT LE. They dropped support after 6.4 or so...

yeah that was weak that they took a great piece of gear and just cut it off from updates but hey it happens. the digi001 is a killer piece of gear for what it's going for these days. this is especially good if you're into recording multiple sources, like many synths or a live band. you can use that interface with other hosts of course. version 6.4 was the last solid release before 6.7 came out. most people who used the digi001 extensively did most of their work in version 5 which was way different than 6

Well we all can see what kind of support digi will give once you've sunk your $$ in... they just can't wait to discontinue it to get more

For those that may not know, there is a free ASIO driver available from Digi that will allow the 001 to work as an interface for other products that support ASIO (Cubase, Sonar, ect.)
My RME has hardware acceleration and is faster so I still prefer it to the 001, but the ASIO driver DOES work.
Although I haven't really used it extensively.
I cant even use PT 6.4 or any other version since it remains totally incompatible with my raid drives - and I will not give up my raid drives.
Beware getting in bed with Digi; she can get real ugly in the morning.

yeah it sucks but many people think that this was THE interface and the mbox/digi002 are weak in comparison(as they are usb and firewire)
