I have been a long time user of the Miroslav Mini Library in the Gigasampler format. The sound is fantastic-lush and meaty!!!
I have also been a long time Sampletank user. As with any bread and butter workstation, the sounds are hit and miss. My concern, prior to shelling out money for Philharmonik, is that Sampletank string and orchestra samples have a tendency to be thin compared to the drums and basses, for example.
Are there any users of the Vitous libraries in the well known formats who can make a comparison between Philharmonik and the Akai or Giga formats?

I think it has more to do with what the original sample was. These are the same samples from the original Miroslav libraries plus more (because we acquired his entire sample archives). So, it is not a direct comparison with the strings in SampleTank that are from another source.

Miroslav himself likes the plug-in a lot if that tells you anything. I think it sounds a little different in each sampler to be honest. It's very warm in this engine and musical. Sounds nice in Giga and sounds a little brighter (as most things do) in the Akai. Not really that much of a difference though as most of the character comes from the samples themselves and the expressive programming we did which is really an improvement over the previous library in many, many ways. We worked for almost a year on that so...

But, to top it off you qualify for the crossgrade discount being a SampleTank 2 XL owner (and also because you are an original Miroslav lib owner). If you pick up the crossgrade on www.esoundz.com before the end of this month you will save a lot of money.

Guys, I don't know if you know it but the price of Philharmonik is going up October 1st. It's been announced several times by IK. This was just an introductory price. Also, the crossgrade/upgrade prices are not going to be around forever either. Take advantage of it while you can.

Thanks Dave,
I do like warm.
Tomorrow's my birthday and Philharmonik would mean not having to upgrade my Giga computer. My wife barely understands this. Any chance of you guys purchasing the Kirk Hunter Solo Strings? ;)
