Not sure if this is true, but I've heard Kates new single gets it's first (official) radio play tomorrow morning (Wednesday) on the Ken Bruce show > Radio 2, sometime between 9.30 and 12. Bit much having to listen to that for 2 1/2 hours, but it should be worth it

Well, on first hearing, what a disappointment
King Of The Mountain sounds like an out take from Red Shoes. I was hoping for much better, tho' Ken Bruce did insist it's a 'grower', seem's like he was disappointed to at first hearing. Hmmmm, hope I'm not expecting too much from the new cd.

That's a shame, I love a lot of her older stuff. Mind you, these kind of comebacks rarely seem to bear good fruit.

and skip forward to about the 38 minute mark.
Sort of agree with Ian B - was expecting a bit more.
Cheers,

kate is one of my all time favorite artists but i really think she peaked around the dreaming/hounds of love. sensual world had its moments, red shoes was mostly a waste of time... i am excited about aerial but i fully expect it to be a letdown. hard not to get one's hopes up but low expectations are always the best when dealing with something like a 12 year absence!

Thanks for the heads up on that .. there's only so much Ken Bruce that one can takekeiths wrote: and skip forward to about the 38 minute mark.
I can imagine this will be a grower, as others have said, and may prove to be a good album track. I just can't imagine this at the top of the singles charts though (whatever they now are, anyway
... and what has happened to all the dynamics in this song? Although it builds a little, it sounds to me like all the dynamic variety has been pretty much squashed out of the track. Is it over-compressed, or what?
