Does anyone have samples of Keyboard presets.. Yaknow the kind of keyboards that are like romplers.
Cool orchestral pads and spaces pads...

Is it legal to sample your triton or emu synths and give samples of the presets away for free.. Regardless does anyone have any links?

Read this interesting reply on a similar topic from spectrum:
tee....you are right about almost everything...

....except the last part about patches on PCM synths being fair game for sample developers. They absolutely are NOT fair game and are legally protected since they involve the original sound recordings. (Roland has proven this in many cases). If anyone uses a sample-based synth for developing samples for distribution or inclusion in a new work, they must legally obtain permission (usually a special license) from the company that produced the original sample-based synth.

A lot of people seem to miss the distinction that samples have a unique form of protection that applies only to sound recordings (SR Copyright law). So it is much easier to protect sample-based products than non-sample-based products. This includes derivative works based on those recordings...like new waveforms for a sample library or sample-based synth. If you can show that the original recording was used, then you can protect it.

Yep, what Spectrum says is the truth. But we all know that in practice this rule has been bent more times than Graham Norton's wrist.

Truth is, there are refill knocking around that are made 100% with the Korg Triton. Loads of dance sample CD's have sounds made with sample based synths.

It is illegal, but so is sampling sounds from old break beats. And there isnt a loops CD in exsistence that doesnt contain atleast a few vinyl hits (ok, there might be a few  ).

If you are looking for a set of Triton samples specifically for your own use, then Id probably go out and rent one. Sample all the presets and raw waves, then make some mock ups. Iv done this plenty of times.
