oddbods finger a pool of synthetic cream, rich and thick, smooth and rounded pulsating with deep currents - static flips and crackles about its molten core 'til self animated, it hovers suspended in its prime, near bristling.

synthasy2000 rolling clouds engulfing valleys, a charged atmosphere permeates and ears harken the envoy, meanwhile its spirits glide swiftly, weaving fillagries of motion glimpsed in the fragile vapour trails of their wake.

caco dense cluster mass from which limbs unfurl waving rhythmically like percussive ancillaries beating out some brooding intent - the whole apparatus winding its sinuous loop of destiny.

farluker multifarious within its own self containment, both grounded and elevated, its duality affords parallel visions, a hawk high over a prairie, a weevil amid the scour boards - indeed, a fly upon the wall.

respirator organic dribbling infuses into a metabolic reaction taking processes out of stases, defying time we encounter a new realm and witness older things than ourselves - we come across the intra-cellular eternity that projected visions of creation upon our psyche.

andreasE plucking joy from the ether, our endeavours attain a shining countenance, like a beam through which we pass, physically we block its path, but somehow it enters our hearts, we are its vessel, and a radiance issues forth.

more soon.

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's - just a review.

A sailor on strange seas - nikp2000:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice track - it felt a bit like early Mike Oldfield to me. Pity that the synth is out of tune to the rest of the track. I know the tuning of the old analog stuff is supposed to go off, but this is probably a bit much. Having said that, I really like the acoustic and electric guitars in this piece. It also has a cool athmosphere.

what's 'good'? if it can stimulate such sensations and conjure such images, i'd say it was beyond 'good', more like valid, successful, or has some kind of integrity or something, but these again are just words and i'm no arbiter of taste, truth or such. there are those here who can provide prescriptive commentary on techniques, production and musical craft etc, thankfully so i might add, and there are those otherwise like myself who can't. instead, such as i, provide what we can, something which hopefully adds, at the risk of sounding pompous, alternate depth or dimension. however there are all of us here who create an incredible human resourse beyond measure, which inevitably involves some nefarious activity, again thankfully so at times.

but here's a simple answer, yes it's good, i found your track very enjoyable :)

petrudamsa stacked tiers in elegant elevation intersperse a sentimental journey within a cubist tropicalia, angles abound providing the purchase from which decorations are hung.

scoops a cosmic fabric woven with the embroidery of human touch. somewhat expansive, it occupies a near horizontal plane upon which we cast our communiques far and wide.

sttjelle like an ancient prayer dance, cyclical and rolling - a golden orb of magnetic power in ascendancy.

glassback from his aluminium vestibule the space pope of ultra-dub imparts messages and accords that come coded in vibration, his wand fizzing as it zaps out each decree.

wopelka bubbling acidic pool below, sparkling tinsel-ether above, mad professor in the middle, whose mind acts as a filter unravelling mysteries that recombine in an instant - laboratory joys revealed/concealed.

sorry, it was actually meant as a rhetorical question...
i was indulging in a bit of frivolity, but it was an eloquent reply nonetheless.

8) hey! no problem.

there's an inherent danger in this style of commenting - that it'll come across as 'a load of old cod tobblers', or something, which, in a way it is. that's why i start each round with the quote and disclaimer - but it's good to have an opportunity to attempt some kind of justification, and i found your inquiry funny, as intended, rather than otherwise. :) in a way i wish i could write pertinent reviews and criticism, as that's what i prefer to receive myself, but alas any authority that i muster is soon undermined by an ill-starred lyricism. anyway i found your song far more than 'enjoyable' as i tersely wrote above. and while i'm at it i might as well add how magnificent i find farina too.

I've been quite enjoying that lyricism; not just the 'poetry' of it, but also the way it shows one can take a different, essentially non-critical stance to music, . . . An "it is what it is" stance, that gives creativity itself its due without demanding one must "stay within the lines." I appreciate constructive criticism, of course, but a well-crafted, imaginative "poetic response" is a rare treat.

Random playlist order, my thoughts, all personal but not to be taken personally.
Probably best to do these in bite-size chunks  , hence:
Part 1

Petru Delu Damsa: Requiem for Bob Moog.
This really is a requiem isn't it? Very impressive stuff. Jazz rock/prog and right up my street. Top quality production as well. A really great start to this mega-listenathon. :D

Caco: Moogy Wonderland
The percussion reminds me of a Thomas Leer track called 'Tight As A Drum' (I think without dragging the thing out to check). A bit bassy, but that's OK. On the whole, nicely percussive. The bass kinda drowns out the sounds in the background though.

Mystahr: Dear Mr Moog
Slow start, slow build, droney and spacey. There's something about this I like, it'd sound fine as an interlude piece on a CD. :D Later some good sounds come in, but I feel it never really takes off.

Patrick 9: In The Moog
Now you see, I  the original of this. Unfortunately I've never been able to play this version through to the end. Painful to the max.

Wopelka: Emoogation
Not sure about this one either. Can't get on with the overloud white noise just cos it kinda hurts my ears a bit, sorry man. The bell-like sounds sound really a lot like an old Insane Dustbinmen track of mine. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was  . The voice is weird (which isn't a bad thing).

Andreas Ehrnhardt: Moog meets Emerson
I'm liking this a lot. Nice production great little tune. Good lead and nice guitar but the percussion could be louder imo. :)

liqih: Funky Mooger
Funkayyyy - yes. Love the wah-guitar and the spacy lead. I like this one as well. :)

Sepheritoh: Shadows In Our Mind
Despite the guitar, I like this. It's not the first thing I've heard from you that's got a game-y kinda vibe to it. I think you've got this genre pretty much nailed. I do like those lead synths playing in and around each other near the end. :D

Thomekk: Bob Has Gone
Interesting... some mad sounds in there when it gets going. Wasn't sure about this at first, but it's grown on me. :)

sttjelle: I Don't Know
Nice vocoded tune, this. Great feel. Nice production, got a real feelgood factor to it. :)

nikp2000: A Sailor On Strange Seas
Blimey - this really is a great month isn't it? Yet another fabulous track here. Nice everything. 'nuff said.

Marc JX8P: The Great Modular In The Sky
And another Tan Dream / Klaus Schulze style tune. I'm in my element here. This one's also caught that feel really well. Great tune and production, again. :)

Benedict Roff-Marsh: Time Returns all Legends To Glory
Lovely. Really like this (as well! ).

Emdot Ambient: Cybernaut
Wow, what a choice. Never thought I'd hear a cover of a TONTO track - not the sort of thing you'd normally think of to do so congrats on choosing an unexpected track to cover. And accurately, too. This fits right in with this random running order so far. Together, they'd make a fantastic CD! :D

Khepira: Spirals For An Inventor
That bouncy lead sounds really familiar to me for some reason. Another interesting tune nonetheless, nice percussion and some good ideas.

Kovacs: Bob's Funky Friday
Great bassline, nice rhythm but after a while I really wanted that lead sound to change or go away, sorry. Just that one thing kinda spoils a good track a little for me, a bit.

More later...

Part 2 the second:

mchlwlsn: Allegro Assai
Excellent 'Switched On' stuff. Clever - is this self penned? Forgive my ignorance and sorry if it's already been asked. (I don't read reviews of other peoples tunes until I've done mine cos I don't wanna be swayed or influenced  ) Really sounds like something off Switched On Bach. Nicely done. Oh, and by the way. How the hell do you say your name? Please don't say you open your mouth and the words just come out. :hihi:

Poepe: Bob Has Left The Building
Bloody hell! :-o OK, just cos I  that type of female vocals and I've got a soft spot for sax, this is ace. The fact that every other aspect of this tune's spot on just increases my listening pleasure here. :D

Respirator: Moog Has Left The Building
Funny how these 2 tunes came back to back. The titles might be similar but there the similarity ends. Dark stuff, this. Whoops - got so sucked into it then, I forgot to type. Which can't be a bad thing, although a bit too minimal for my taste. :)

Scoops: The Telephone Call
What a fantastically different and inventive track. Me likes a lot.

Silent Mind: KVR Bullshit
Somewhere underneath the overly compressed pumping, there sounds like what might be a half decent trance track but the overcompression, brickwall limiter and severe clipping totally ruin it, sorry. Terrible production and you won't hear me saying that very often.

The Starving Time: In Memoriam Doctoris Roberti
Back on track with another really nice piece. Nice one. :)

Voynich: The Release
Absolutely superb! I had to go grab the full version on the strength of this. Excellent production, well crafted, great sounds. Epic. Well done. :D

Barnadine: Flown
Just... lovely.

Diek: The Call Of The Universe
It's getting harder and harder this is, cos I mostly want to just keep going "Feckin Brilliant!!" but feel I should be a bit more constructive... ah sod it - Feckin Brilliant!!! Can't say better than that, really.

Farlukar: Fooger
Great bass line. I love the feel of this tune - nice choice of samples, too. :)

More soon...

And through the silence
It spoke the one word
That I shall hear for evermore:...
Reviews!

Funky mooger - Liqih:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, vintage and funky! Yet still including some new elements. A very enjoyable track with top notch wah-wah guitars!

Moogerrobber - rsmus7:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great rhythmic patterns, also the sounds are really well done - they feel incredibly well balanced with clear high frequencies and smooth, round bass frequencies. Melodically I would have liked to hear some kind of tune, but it's a great track and it feels like a movie soundtrack.
