Nonsense!
They're all good tracks (including yours, pHz).
And as Kovacs said, the cd is something to look up to.

OK, I created a generic write-up for sending to potential advertisers. I just sent emails to Future Media and Rolling Stone. (fingers crossed)

Here's the text:

A group of concerned, international musicians at www.kvraudio.com have come together to help raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We are producing a double-cd featuring independent artists from around the globe. All profits made from the sale of the CDs will be split evenly between the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. You can view our website at www.katrinareliefcd.com.

We need some advertising help to make the project a success and we're hoping that you might have some advertising space that you can donate towards this effort. Please feel free to contact me at this email address, or write to info@katrinareliefcd.com if you have any questions about the project.

Thank you for your time and best wishes,

Hopefully this makes it easier for everyone to jump in and help with the marketing, just copy and paste. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on the write-up, then just let me know. Good luck and godspeed!

Unfortunately, I'm sure someone, at some point in time will unwittingly take you up on that challenge (if history is any kind of indicator). ;)

I have just been informed by some devs of even more fantastic prizes.

That these developers are coming forward to offer their help is a stunning example of how the KVR community can come together to help during times of human tragedy and disaster. We should be terrifically proud.

The Tsunami Relief effort 'Resonance' was the father of this one, with it's incredible music.

We're going to try to at least equal that fantastic effort in quality and effectiveness with Chrysalid.

I am sitting here in shock at the outpouring of assistance coming in, and I think our only dilemma is how best to use such extraordinary contributions effectively.

As some have pointed out, prizes of musical VSTi may not be suitable for all those who preorder, so we must strive to make the best use of these within the KVR (and other) musical communities.

People can help by spreading the word in these such online communities, and by thinking perhaps that, for the price of a movie and popcorn, you can contribute to this very worthwhile cause and have the chance of winning some incredible prizes.

With that said, some of us are operating on limited sleep and energy while keeping up with our regular lives/jobs/commitments - not so easy lately with the intensity of message traffic, marketing efforts and Cd prep, etc.

So we need some help -- especially in the MARKETING areas.

I'd like to enourage those readers that are out there but not registered on KVR, newbies, old-timers, space people and other vague life-forms, to jump in here and lend a hand.

'Lending a hand' can mean making a preorder, but if you don't have the bread (as many don't - I know) you can still help by helping us here -- there's LOTS to do.

Just PM me, and if my PM box rejects your messages (due to being totally maxed out most of the time) post here in the thread or contact one of the other KVR members and let us know!

Cheers & Many Thanks,

OK,

I don't know why I hadn't thought of this yet - but I have a cousin who is pretty connected in advertising in Atlanta, Detroit and Boston. I'm going to see if he can give us a hand. He hasn't been in music marketing, but perhaps can help out in some way.

I think this is great. Are you still adding artist to the cd. I got some songs.
