As for protools I have never used so I can't say but like stated here the midi isn't up to speed with the other programs. :)
I really don't want to start just another A vs. B thread, but when you say that sonar4 has all the features of cubase, then you really didn't use cubase at all. And more, I just can't imagine what in sonar you see like logic.
To give you an idea: try to edit midi events in sonar4 and then try the cubase sx1 (yes, one!) demo if you hate the dongle. The first sx version of cubase outperforms sonar4 by far. To give you an idea: muting, spliting of midinotes, editing multiple events at once, those are features you will get with sonar5 and I'm not even sure if you get them all!

Pro Tools M-Powered is definitely a step down from Cubase SX...you couldn't pay me to use that shite.

When I tired of SX, I switched to Sonar and never looked back. Project 5 is cool too, but Sonar will seem more familiar to SX. So if you're really tired of the whole traditional DAW paradigm try Project 5, otherwise I would suggest you switch to Sonar 5 ...whatever you choose, you'll be glad you did.
I'm glad the c major scale was invented before copyright law
