where do i start - drum tracks from loops

pardon the ignorance but im learing.
i want to create my own drum tracks using loops etc - where do i start.

i know a bit about loops and have access to some good uns, but thats it

what software do i need (sequencer/sampler/ loop player and sorter thingy)

I have cubase sx for multitracking and im bored of midi, have tried soft synth soundfonts etc and am now wanting to experiment with loops.

so some good simple advice would be great.
