When I press record and start playing after a 4 beat intro, the click is going but nothing actually starts recording until after the 5th bar?????? and even then it's not on beat.
I cannot for the life of me figure this out.
I've gone thru the manual to try and find it and more importantly, I would start a brand new project hoping the default would fix this.
Please help.
Thanks

are you recording audio or midi?
do you use an ASIO soundcard?
when did you want it to start recording?
Give more details about how you have your metronome set up.

Thanks for responding annode.
I'm trying to record midi using an asio sound card for tapping keys and once I figure this problem out, I'll be running through a RMX Fireface interface.
I have recorded guitar with no timing issues.
I want it to start recording as soon as I hit record or after a 4 beat intro which I have no problem with setting that up. Metronome options are all checked,1 bar precount, 4/4 time

Here is an sx3 project example setup for you.
Dload this small zip...open it in your sx3 project folder...then click on the .cpr file to open the project.
It may say "mr.ray"is not availible...say ok and select any vsti to play midi track 1.
Look at how my metronome is setup.
This may show what is wrong with your settings in other projects.
This counts 8 times then plays midi chord.
Let me know if it does that for you..or of not.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you tell me where to check, I will. Unbelievable. I tried it again and the actual recording didn't start showing up till the 9th bar though I'm hearing the drums as I play just fine. It's like a 20 sec delay or something.

ok dblock...your very welcome.
Just reopened that project here ,and it held all the correct metronome settings.
Because my system is different...you may see it ask or say you dont have something I have...make any corrections you need to...but the project should work ok for you.

cool!
Have you tried creating a 2nd midi track and recording on it...seeing if the metronome timing is ok?

I just tried assigning bfd to a second track and recording on it but I'm not getting any recording at all onthat though your crash cymbal comes in right on time. It must be something I'm not doing or doing. I'm trying to figure it out.I'm brand new to cubase so that doesn't help much either but at least I know it's set up to play right once I figure out why I'm not recording.
