Hello, this is a known problem that has been happening since v2.2 and is actually fixed in the latest update v3.1 of cubase(at least at my pc hehe).
That is the only way you will get your midi probs fixed(by updating). I tried everything for over a year to get a proper midi recording using a midex8. ignoreportfilter, system timestamp etc, tried all tests that actually showed my recording offset(not audio, midi). Most users didnt even know this problem occured.

I MAY update myself...I`m using sx3 v 3.0.2 build 623 with no timing issues as in this thread.
I usually wait till I see a prob in cubase before I do an update...but that`s just me.
I`ve been using steinberg for yrs and just got into that habit.

I'm switching from hardware to software and from tracktion to this sx-3 so I'm just about learned enough to start laying a rough track or to finally. I just updated my whole home studio. It's not big but pretty nice I think.

Cool.
SX3 is really an incredable program.
I have a friend that is always telling about something new he has learned in it...much of which is far more then I ever see myself needing to know...givin the way I use cubase...just got myself a new pronter cartradge, and am about to print the whole sx3 manual !!! haha

Cool!
I just bought a vintech 1272, an avalon 2055 on ebay and I'm waiting for a Manley slam to be made due around the 1st. I believe sx-3 can use thes internally.

Hey man!!! I`ll take that avalon!!!
I`m using a patch I made in a plug-in eq set into xs3`s master output buss just to flatten out some of the room acoustic peaks.
I have 2 peaks worth dealing with only...but a good master eq would be nice to have for sure.
That`s one expensive mic pre...do you sing....what sort of audio will you be using the vintech for?

I planned on running my entire set up through the vintech, into the Manley slam. The avalon is a mastering eq so that will follow. I'm not completely sure of the best signal chain for what I have. I also got a RMX Fireface 800 which I think maybe I'll be able to run everything through, then through again using different channels for mastering or something. I've been asking different peoples opinion on how they would chain together what I have just for differemt ideas. I'm not committed yet as to how to go about it.
What kind of workstation/computer are you using?

This pix is a few yrs old..and i`ve changed and added a few things.
I think using patchbays to channel components around as needed is how I work.(as seen on that rack.
I can say this about using a mastering EQ;
Your room better be conditioned to the point where you don`t have any sound anomalies...cause when you use the avalon to correct a stereo master...you may do more harm then good.It all depends on your ears and the room in order to get a good master eq back.

Way cool studio!
You have basically the same stuff as me in one form or the other right down to the drums. My is the Yamaha Dt xpress.
I dont have a picture of mine yet. Have you seen the neko 64? http://www.harmony-central.com/Newp/2003/Neko-64.jpg
I love this thing. the 15" monitor is touch screen and I have a second 24" monitor sitting above it.I also have a 24" monitor sitting above it. I'm talking to you on my neko while cubase is open on the 15" touchscreen of the neko.
As far as the eq, I dont sing. I will use it for all direct recording. I could get myself introuble with it but I wanted to hurry up and buy this stuff while I still have the balls to charge that kind of money. I had a plan of my ideal studio for what I can (eventually afford). I'll learn it a bit at a time but like you, only what I need to learn to hear what I want to hear. I'm getting real tired of manuals.

And as for Manc Chris(wise ass)..if he was using a crack...steinberg would have nothing to do with him.

f**k`in cool shit!
I`ve read a bit about that neko...and you using it on the net now..hahaha...cool!
My drums are home made.all of it...except the 4 heads are from a n old "synare" 4 piece...and the other heads are remo practice pad heads.
They are wired into my alesis DM5 drum module...which has samples and also outputs the midi I play into the pc.
I`m at the moment investigating ...like you touch screen...a video tablet/monitor that is touch screen but has a built in pen for actuating to the screen.
I may just end up buying a 13``flat screen and then getting the pen touch screen for it as a kit.
I want to be able to do all tactile screen contro; with a pen since my screen will be small...so I can just sit back in my office type chair and work with it.
Touch screens will be the thing to have for seqrs like sx3 and SQ4 (www.sq4.net)...i`ll bet your very excited about your touch screen!
