can anyone recommend any good free delay plugins. I'm getting very bored with Cubase's built in ones and need to expand to some more interesting ones. I'm kinda skint though so I'm only looking for freebies.

I'd recommend Kiesel's Freedelay. Very versatile. Has good modulation, pitch changes with delay rate, lets you tune the delay rate by MIDI note. I've recently rediscovered it, and it is fantastic.

For a good colourful delay, check out e-phonic's Retrodelay. If you decide to upgrade to something that might cost you, it doesn't get better than Audio Damage's Ronin and Dubstation.

I love Retrodelay, but tend to use it only for its dirtier properties. Turn the distortion, feedback and reverb up and the thing lives and breathes with grit. I don't tend to use as a straightforward delay, in part because I've never loved it's delay modulation.

ah, well i'm kinda the opposite. i used analogic and bionic for a long time but then retrodelay and classic pretty much replaced them for me.
