I've so very excited for the new version too. Working with Miroslav, which I assume has the updated engine, with the velocity splits and keyboard splits, is very cool. It's hard to wait, but I'm all for it being done right the first time. IK has had quite the menu of big things coming out... Miroslav, Amplitube 2, CSReverb, Studiophonik.... Miroslav is outstanding - a well written piece of software. Windows ME was rushed cause M$ needed a new OS to sell. What a mistake that was! But, I don't mean to preach. I would like the new engine and sounds right now as well! tick tock... tick tock...

How will the update work for those just getting Sampletank 2.0? My copy arrives either end of this week or early next. Will your seial registration suffice or do you think we're going to have to send in a proof of purchase to get the update?

We all get the engine free, which I would imagine is just a download for which the IK site will detect your registration, and you get the updated soundset free too which I think is automatically mailed, but I may be wrong about that. You know, Thoth, you've been getting a lot of good deals on sounds lately...Thoth93 wrote:How will the update work for those just getting Sampletank 2.0? As much as I'm looking forward to the update, I've learned that when IK is late, it's because what we're waiting for is going to be better. On the other hand, with Philharmonik, a 2.1 engine product, now out, it does provoke some curiosity about the 2.1 general release.

oh and Vocalpoint please dont take offense to my brash response. i just feel that the products come out when they're ready and that's that. I'm sure you understood.

Vocalpoint is well within his rights to post as he did (although I would be quick to point out that the esoundz forum is not the right place and the instruments forum is). Everybody can talk all they want about how much better something is with the waiting, but you can't change the fact that IK made an inaccurate statement and have yet to replace it with an accurate one. I agree that this is not the best practice.

I see no innate contradiction between the idea that something can be worth an extra wait and being disappointed it's not on time.Hewitt Huntwork wrote:Vocalpoint is well within his rights to post as he did (although I would be quick to point out that the esoundz forum is not the right place and the instruments forum is). Tunes,
No offense taken. I was merely trying to point out that if you are going to put May 2005 in print...then make it May 2005 or get a new press release - or fer Gods sake - tell us what the damn problem is?
And yes - Miroslav based on 2.1 engine is a little disappointing. Logic suggests the base product should be the first to get the new code and be first out the door.
And no - my life is not dependant on the update. My excitement and anticipation ABOUT the update when it was announced was kinda cool...now I am just PO'd that the months are whipping by and there is no info at all about what the holdup is.
Why even set the expectation in the first place if you are going to be 5 months late? It certainly can't be a sales driver - a casual user may have read that press release back in April and might have been ready to drop some cash - but now has probably forgot all about it since so much time has passed.
I would be happy with some information on what the holdup is.

5 months.....bah! that's nothing. I've been patiently waiting for Studiophonik. I was young when it was first announced.Vocalpoint Studios wrote:Tunes,

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately I think it's the nature of the music software business beast and the giant trade shows. Grab people's attention when you can.
All I can offer you is a quote from one of my favorite movies:
Here, the fortunate ones through money, or influence, or luck, might obtain exit visas and scurry to Lisbon; and from Lisbon, to the New World. But the others wait in Casablanca... and wait... and wait... and wait.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but actually, it's approaching 10 months, since it was first announced. I have to agree that this is a long time to wait. I know it's coming, I know it will be nice, but I also think IK needs to know that the natives are getting restless. There are a lot of people who bought Sampletank 2 expecting this.

That aside, I will repeat here that you and others are offering excuses for an entity that offers none for itself. I'll take resposibility for the fact that it rubs me the wrong way.
