Coolest Live Rig

Who has it? The NEKO thread in the Instruments forum got me thinking about this. I think ours is super-slick, especially as I am about to take delivery of a new Dell M 70 for my new job. All we'll need then to do our live thing is:
My Set-up:
- M70 running ORION
- Edirol PCR-1 as audio device and controller
- Alesis Micron
- Behringer UB1002 Mixer
Sik's Set-up:
- SPD-8 triggering drum hits from ORION via MIDI
- KORG Prophecy
- KORG KAOSS Pad for backing vox
That's just one trip each from the car. M70, PCR-1 and mixer in my backpack with all the leads and krap, the Micron [in its soft case] in one hand and my 2-tier stand in the other. Sik has all his stuff in a big old synth roadcase in one hand and his 2-tier stand in the other. It is not just the most portable set-up we've ever had, its also the most powerful which is totally out of control.

I want your Prophecy & Kaoss pad right now
I'd love a Prophecy great little monosynth IMHO.
Pity it's discontinued.

I'm surprised you're using a mixer rather than a Firewire card with more inputs; I thought you'd want control over everything in Orion
But yeah, I saw the thread title and thought 'BONES rig is probably gonna win on points for minimalism alone'.

I have a backlit keyboard for my Shuttle which also has laptop keys. It was perfect for use on stage.
Even more interesting is the fact that the M70, unlike its predecessor, has no freakin' FireWire.
Little!?! Its huge in every way! It weighs about twice as much as the Micron. It seemed small when I had a Trinity but now its a monster.FaX wrote:I want your Prophecy & Kaoss pad right now![]()

That never occurred to me. Besides, putting things through ORION live would be fiddly as I'd have to manually arm all the tracks for monitoring, as I don't think it saves those states. Mind you, I've never tried and I think a physical mixer is much easier to work with on stage than a virtual one. I only hit CTRL+O to select the next song and then hit the spacebar to play. I don't want the computer dominating on stage.whyterabbyt wrote:I'm surprised you're using a mixer rather than a Firewire card with more inputs; I thought you'd want control over everything in Orion

Can we assume that Live5 will soon feature here?bluedad wrote:my set-up

I have a respectable amount of gear, way more than I have room for in fact, but when I play out, I just take the QSC amp and the couple basic fx in the amp rack, one or both of my Yamaha wedges, and my Alesis 6.1 or my Roland XP80 depending on what I need to play.

I take a Shuttle XPC and 12" monitor with all cables pre connected, fits beautifully inside a red milk crate. Then, I just plug in my 88 note keyboard and edirol PCR-30, and away we go. I'll probably get a lappy one of these days though, bit easier on the back and all that.

well, as I've got 3 live rigs that vary somewhat - here they are:
____
for when I'm doing keyboards live for I, Parasite ( http://www.iparasite.net )
Roland SH-09 -> Metasonix TM-1
Evolution MK249c -> Virus rack
_____
for the one wretch set to date -
Ableton Live running prerecorded breaks and pads
Elektron Machinedrum into Sherman Filterbank and Boss Giga Delay
Roland SH-09 -> Metasonix TM-1
_____
for my sets under the name Endmusik with NYConduit -
Ableton live running all sorts of crazy crap
Elektron Machinedrum into Moog MF-101 and Boss Giga Delay
Also - once it's fixed I'll be adding my Elektron Monomachine back into the lineup for the Endmusik sets.

This is a ceremonial procession of members of the Ambanattu Panikkar family memebrs, bringing pots of honey as ritual offering to the deity at Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, Ambalapuzha. Link[2]. Link [3]. The land where the temple was built was belonging to a rich Ezhava landlord and kalari asaan Ambanattu Panikker. While the rajah of Ambalapuzha dynasty and Vilwamangalathu Swamiyar were going through the waterways, it so happened that they could hear a luscious sound of flute coming from a nearby huge and luxuriant peepul tree. To his astonishment Swamiyar saw Sree Krishna sitting on a branch of the peepul tree playing his flute and suddenly diappeared.
