I am so fortunate as to have a (good!) singer as a partner. We make music together, where she sings and writes lyrics and comes with melodies, and I pretty much do the rest.
We want her to be able to rehearse and record on her own computer, but she won't do much editing, so Cubase SE is what we want to buy for her. But will it be possible for her to import Cubase projects I made in Cubase SX?
Can SE import cpr's made in SX?

I think SE can read SX 1 files. SE 3 might be able to read SX 3 files, but I'm not 100% sure about this. You might wanna check on the Cubase forum at http://forum.cubase.net

I read the press release. It says: 'Not only is Cubase SE3 fully upgradeable to Steinberg’s Cubase SX3 and Cubase SL3 applications, but all projects created in Cubase SE3 can be easily opened in either of those two professional music applications, regardless of computer platform.' It doesn't say it works vice versa too, so I guess not.

Yeah, they want you to upgrade and make more money. They wouldn't say "hey, all you need is SE3 cause you can even open SX3 projects in SE3". You might, but there could be things that didn't translate 100% because of missing features.Pouckypluysch wrote:..all projects created in Cubase SE3 can be easily opened in either of those two professional music applications, regardless of computer platform.'
