Hi guys! Hope you experts can help me out.

Im having issues with using FL Studio VST (Multi) in Cakewalk Sonar Producer 4.

In a nutshell, this is what I want to be able to do:

I want to be able to compose in flstudio on all 16 tracks, then press play from sonar, and have all flstudio tracks play on their own MIDI and audio channels in sonar. I want to be able to record the flstudio tracks on their own midi and audio channels in sonar. I dont want to have to export wav/audio from flstudio then import into sonar.

I cant get my head around how to do this, and urgently need a step by step as to how to set up the flstudio end, and ideally, what I need to do in my host.

Do you have to set up in the host 1 midi channel for every flstudio vst track? (So you would have 16 vst channels and 16 midi channels)?

I can load it in Sonar as a vst, and I get my 16 tracks.

I just am having real issues getting each channel in flstudio routed to its own track in Sonar.

I only hear sound coming from the first track.

Ive fiddled around with the mixer in flstudio, but when I load a new default song in flstudio, I think some channels are grouped.

When I click on a track in Sonar to play a different flstudio channel, Im not getting it routed or any sound, only on the primary out, and the sound that plays is whatever channel I have manually selected in FLstudio.

Can you please (please) help me out?

Im sure you must be able to click on tracks in Sonar for different flstudio channels and have them play, but Im so confused about how to set up the routing, and would really appreciate your guys help.

This is probably the most important question I will ever send and ask of you guys, as this is how I will really realize how powerful flstudio is.

Thank you in advance.

When you load FL Studio as a VST/DXi in a another host
you have to go through each mixer track in FL and re-assign
it's output to the host inputs.

Just select each mixer track in the FL mixer and click in it's output field (bottom right hand corner of mixer) and assign to the "new" outputs.
