Anything by Magazine - Barry Adamson is the best bassist ever.
The bassist in Ian Dury and the Blockheads is pretty good too though.

That's a great bass part.

Slint's 'Good Morning, Captain' has a fantastic bassline. It's not funky, but it's very effective.

Greatest I've ever witnessed in person was Knurl live in '96, solo bass performance with a 10" circular sawblade chained to the pickups of a Fender Precision bass - unholy wall of sound.

For synthetic bass, nothing tops Dissecting Table. Hard to single out tracks, but the opening cut on 'Human Breeding' and 'Unkamu Dokoro' from the Zigoku CD would be near the top.
