I'm so dull, could you explain that for me?

Well that's not entirely accurate - not for specific donations anyway. When you make a general donation to an organisation like that they can assign the money the way they deem necessary (i.e. also to cover general costs, which have to be covered *somehow* obviously, nothing wrong with that).
When you donate for a specific cause, though, these organisations are (and I believe legally) bound to use them for the cause specified by the donor. In this case, Katrina.
That's also why they often times put out press releases asking people not to donate for a specific cause anymore, but to make a general donation instead. Last example I remember is medecins sans frontieres in connection with the tsunami relief effort. Another indication that when you donate a 50 bucks to a charitable organisation and put a 'for Katrina relief' on the cheque, they can't use it elsewhere.

Therefore it's rather safe to assume that your money actually reaches the people who you want to help with your donation, as long as organisations are used which can't just run off with money.

yeah right we shouldn't get into politics... the little and simple plug will be for free so you are free to donate for anything that seems important to you.

Well, I suppose a compromise could be made. Just throw in a simple text file that urges someone to donate? I don't know, it's not my decision anyhow.

will this sampler be able to load wav files? or, will you only be able to use the internal kits? Can you sample with it? thanks

it would be cool if i could load (for example) a wav file of a snare.... 16 bit or whatever. But it would be nice if your plugin could give my 16bit snare sample, the sound character of the 12-bit SP1200. You know? This would achieve a similiar effect to me re-sampling all my 16 bit samples into my s950 to augment the sound.

Try to get someone to make an impulse of the exact 12 bit signal degradation from a real SP-1200 or it will not sound like it at all. I had a real one years ago and can tell you that I have not even come close to the crispy, trashy (but great)lo-fi sound of that unit, using just about any and every bitcrusher/reducer/downsampling plugin or process you can think of.

If you can figure a way to put an overall impulse of the real deal that effects the output of your plug with the same grit of an actual SP1200 you will have something ALOT of people will buy.

This is why I have been hunting down someone with one. With no luck though. But anyways, we will try our best, and most likely improve upon it as time goes on. If we could find someone with the real thing that could do that, then that would be great, but until then we will do our best. After all, this is freeware.
