Okay first let me say I'm surprised by my choice, so I know all the arguments...I never thought I would buy an Ovation, but nothing fancy. I tried and was between a seagull and this. The Seagull was much more expensive...but I just like this better for recording....as a family sing-along guitar it's not pratical but that's not my style.

It sounds great when strumming chords, the action is very omfortable and it sounds great recorded. I tried it out with a Tascam 788 and the Seagull. Quite frankly the Ovation 's electronics just sounded better. I sure took my time decidng, I just got home with it but have been deciding since Tuesday.

Now of course it wont age like the Seagull and accoustically played it's never going to sound the same...but for recording I'm real happy...and it's still not overly pretentious, which is totally against my character...but now I can't say I never paid over 500 (550) bux for a guitar again, but I'm happy...

I know...that was one thing I never liked either, but it's a very shallow bowl and that's not a problem at all...

For DI recording you have a lot of choices of tones with the rest of the equipment, it's nice looking and can be reliable guitars, will a strap help when sitting (adjusted for the sitting position?)

Some very revolutionary features, right up my alley.
The fact that you can adjust action and intonation within minutes is amazing.
Now if I could only find on in my town to demo it....

That's how I always felt. However, they were always known as great recording guitars. Maybe because the bass end is very contained.

That's incredible ingenuity, but I wonder how it holds up over time? I would also like to hear it in action. Too bad the operation is based out of NY.

I was up until 5 am with the headphones on, I didn't record anything...but damn this is just so comfortable...and again the sliding thing just isn't an issue with the shallow bowl.

Now don't think I'm gonna go accoustic tune nuts, but I've got a nice accoustic when I need it. I really liked it for some blues stuff run through my pods twin setting...but me thinks I'll pick-up a Tech 21 accoustic DI...

I think i will stick to my "fisher-price" my first acoustic. At least I can destroy it and not feel bad.

Although, it sounds awful, no matter what!! (but that might be my terrible playing)

so I've had it a week now.. I think I've probably played it 3-4 hours a day in a dozen different tunings...I'm definately pleased...
