I wish. I'd be rich! plus have the power to shake down some one's house.
What do you use to cut subharmonic frequencies.

is that some kind of insult inferring that I fart subharmonic frequencies?

Forealz though, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hello,
You can also try your luck with a graphic eq, i like the linear phase one from slim slow rider. Dead accurate, you can get rid of those "lows" you are talking about in a few clicks.
http://www.ismusic.ne.jp/slim_slow_slider/vst/#lpgeq2
If you are using a parametric eq, try to set 1 band to hpf, then assign band2 to relative values that would help out the sweep curve of band1(using any eq).
I find it easy to eq using christian budde's posihfopit lately. Top notch stuff:>

Take care

I've had decent success with OhmyGod set to highpass with the frequency cutoff set to 20hz and the resonance set at zero. Seems to work better than the fruity param. eq and classic eq for me.
..what goes around comes around..

Exactly.Debutante wrote:ABSOLUTELY get the Bugpass. Place it in a channel and add something like Inspector to see what happens. It's pretty much a cliff on either end.
It has some latency, but other than that... I think its HPF is pretty steep.
Why don't you think it's good, Chase?
There are two eqs that have quite steep HPFs as well: GlissEQ and Posihfopit.

Neither of them comes close to the steepness of bugpass and they are minimal phase IIR filters, while bugpass is a nearly linear phase FIR filter.ermi wrote:There are two eqs that have quite steep HPFs as well: GlissEQ and Posihfopit.Debutante wrote:ABSOLUTELY get the Bugpass. This (linear phase) kind of filter introduces latency or in other words a constant group delay, which is another word for linear phase. If the phase is linear in any direction, then the derivate of the phase is a constant. The derivate of the phase is called group delay and equals to the average delay (latency) in a frequency band. If it is constant over all the frequencies, this means every frequency is delayed by the amount of "group delay". In this way the group delay is equal to the latency you get.
Everyone confused?

Just bid "one no trump" and you'll build a bridge to tomorrow. Contract bridge, that is.Chase wrote:is that some kind of insult inferring that I fart subharmonic frequencies?

Actually you got me interested a bit in this stuff...Christian Budde wrote: Everyone confused?
Do minimal phase filters lead to latency as well, just not noticeable?
Does the phase (minimal or linear) of the filters work, in a way, like the phase shift (-> signal cancellation)?
Is linear like 180 degrees then?
Sorry for the possible dumb questions, really just guessing here...

Voxengo CurveEQ is what works for me. I always select the "Vintage Mastering" preset and tweak from there. Before that, many of my mixers used to make my car speakers rattle. Not anymore.

Thanks for the simple but elegant idea of putting the filter in front of Inspector, Debutante. I can't believe it never ocurred to me before. I was suddenly curious to check out Tracktion's native hi-pass filter. Not as steep as I always imagined!!
Now I know that BugPass is the tool for me.
Thanks again, Christian.

Christian - I would love to see a version of bugpass without the GUI and with actual Hz values for the LP and HP cuts.
Pleaaaase ????
Love posihfopit , btw - excellent stuff
