The upgrade will cost $399. The version of Guitar Rig it'll come with won't have the Rig Control.

Apperently you can use Beringer FCB1010; I have both but have not tried it yet....MIDI is my downfall

but come to think of it GR is 289 now and EP is 99. Why not buy both seperately and get the foot controler (and save 11 dollers)? something is wrong with this picture.

Sure, you can use any MIDI controller pedal with GR (I use an ART X-15 along with Rig Kontrol myself). You won't have the DIs that are in Rig Kontrol, but if you've got a direct box laying around, you're in business.

How are you connecting? I have one midi in to the computer with a Firewire 410, I have a Radium into that; with GR running through the R/L in's in the back. (right now I'm trying the 'midi through'; for some reason this sounds right for the idiot that I am).

Is there a device to allow for more midi flexability, or am I just missing something? I have some line 6 racks (filter and delay) that are sitting there, can I do something with those as well.
How do I use my rackmount equipment (say in FL)? Can it be done? I know they have "dashboard" but I just figured this was more of a midi control type thing.

So many questions...but you get the jist...

if you are talking about midi synths.....it is a pain. i stopped doing it. how i would do it though is.....record the midi part, then record that as audio from my synth. i did that by running it through a 1/4" line cable into my mixer...from there it records just like any other audio. if i need a synth sound these days i just record it via audio, but that is rare since there's limitless possibilities already on my computer. it's a pain and it will slow you down bigtime in the creative process...at least it did me, and i find it's not worth the effort
