I`ve tried out this new version 1.8 right now, and this is sounding extremly lush!!!

Very nice plug-in, I compared it to the Arts Acoustic Demo.

While the Arts Acoustic is one of the best sounding on vst market I found the Quik Quak to be much better sounding, more realistic. It does give this realistic echos on large halls...

extremly fine with vocals... sounds like expensive hardware.

Whats bad:

-I dont like the kiddy looking user interface. Would like to see a more professional one...

- some times I miss some features to change the early reflection quality: more dense, more light...

But hey at all it sounds extremly professional and thats what matters.

I tried the earlier version which were good, but this plug did a huge yump with version 1.8!!!

Try it out.... its a killer reverb tool.

Maybe gets even better in next version....

And please : version 1.9/2.0 with new interface....!!

:)

3 posts ... ;)

but as you ask, here i go.

my guess:

high drum sound
1=wizoo
2=artsacoustic
3=quick quack

vocal
1=quick quack
2=artsacoustic
3=wizoo

prophet synth sound
1=artsacoustic
2=quick quack
3=wizoo

in general i must say that these signals IMO don`t quite work for testing reverbs ...
but thats just my opinion of course ...

What could be more of a pointless response than that?? :roll: Ummm...I know: I'm only posting so there are 3 in a row from Melbourne! :)

(apolgies hifiboom, I'm not meaning to thread-jack. I'll check out Quick Quack!)

I agree with brok landers, the test signals here aren't very useful for testing reverbs in general. :wink:

But I gave it a little test for myself and I still think, RaySpace is more an early reflection toy. The tails aren't smooth at all. Just take a more transient signal, like a short hihat or a tom, and you'll hear the fluttering...

For sounddesign or postproduction, it could be very handy and the new (smoother than previously, but still not smooth enough for music) tail engine is a welcome enhancement.

So, IMHO, closer but still far away from "best reverb ever"... :)
Who is general failure? And what is he doing on my harddisc?

you are right you can hear fluttering with very short sognals and quikQuak... But thats not the point..

You all are searching for smooth sounding reverb, and than you wonder why the reverb does not fit into the mix perfectly... it sounds like an FX behind your music... All impulse response reverbs, I tried, sound like an extra fx behind the sound. I hate that....

The QuikQuak has the best frequency resonse on vst market. If you give a highHat into it, you only get high sounding reverb, and no mid and bass sound.... other reverbs do so much comb filtering that they sound "smooth", they just dont fit to the mix...

Smooth reverb has nothing to do with realistic room simulation... Go into a real room and clap in your hands and you ll also hear some fluttering... that is realistic...

What Quik Quak doews much better than any other:

-generating deep reverbs, that sound far away....
-get part of the original signal ( I can easily divorce the fx from the dry output from all other vst reverbs)
-have no special fx to make the sound smooth
( I can easily hear the chorus FX in many reverbs to make it sound better, you can also hear it on the ArtsAcoustic and Wizoo)

So you guys think a reverb tool sound smooth, so you will be putting a chorus_reverb combination on every sound you use it on.

What I meant to say:

Try the reverb tools in the mix, and you ll see which one is better...

PS:
I don`t like the Waves RaiVerb and the SpinAudio. The spinAudio has much knobs and bad sound....

convolution is the only way to go...
