I might be doing a Battery kit - is RMIV supposed to load those?
I suppose they both support lm4 but that's about it between those two.

Battery kit would be very nice too although I still prefer to use RMIV if possible.

Yeah well, sfArk is great in sorting out silence in files - and there's quite some in a lot of samples.

Btw, even if I allready mentioned it, VSampler seems to have become an astonishing tool.
I mean, not even the dedicated converter tools seem to convert patches as good. Quite amazing, especially considering that it's not only exporting to SF2 but even doing the 24 to 16 bit job. And I allways thought my softsampler needs would be sorted allready...

Please note that I love VSampler but some really hate it, due mainly to the weird interface and the fact that it is far from intuitive...

But hey, it can import a lot of format (with some bugs I must admit) and it happens to crash for no reason sometimes.

I definitely do not regret to have made the upgrade from VSampler OEM to full VSampler when I bought Sonar 3.1.1 (60 or 70 Canadian dollars I think...).

ADDED after: I know some Sonar users hate this app and prefer Kontakt or Halion but I find that VSampler fits my personal needs...

Patrice, as I know you're up right now (no idea about Salvador), could you please tell me how the 14 Crash samples are mapped? There's some CrshBELL samples - I suppose they're mapped to the lower velocities, correct? It'd make some sense as the crash shows 10 zones in total on the JPG Salvador posted, also, they're rather low in volume. But I'm not all that sure anyways.

Ok, I'll tell in details (exactly as I see in the VSampler zone editor's view):

- 14-Crash-V06-SABIAN-14: vel 121 to 127
- 14-Crash-V05-SABIAN-14: vel 112 to 120
- 14-Crash-V04-SABIAN-14: vel 102 to 111
- 14-Crash-V03-SABIAN-14: vel 92 to 101
- 14-Crash-V02-SABIAN-14: vel 81 to 91
- 14-Crash-V06-SABIAN-14: vel 70 to 80
- 14-CrshBELL-V01-SABIAN-14: vel 59 to 69
- 14-CrshBELL-V02-SABIAN-14: vel 48 to 58
- 14-CrshBELL-V03-SABIAN-14: vel 36 to 47
- 14-CrshBELL-V04-SABIAN-14: vel 0 to 35

All these samples mapped to: Key Lo=c#2, Root=c#2 and Key Hi=c#2.

Thanks, Patrice, that's what I allready assumed.

Hmm, that's handy. I mapped them quite differently (a pad each for 'crash' and crashbell') in DK+ just going by ear, and FWIW I didn't find the jpeg much good for information on mapping velocities. Is there any way to get a list of velocities and assignments for all the pads for us manual workers?? I like having the Crashbell tone handy, actually, mapped to a pad of its own and I can adjust volume accordingly, but in the interests of keeping with the authenticity of the kits, I would also like to do maps using the 'real' velocity and assignments that GIRO is using for HALion.

I'm getting along quite fine with the JPG Salvador posted (apart from the crashbell issue). Really, shouldn't matter too much whether a zone goes up until 90 or 92...
I'm almost done with my EXS version of the first kit, we'll see how that one imports into Kontakt.

a little sloppy sample...how the kit 1 sounds with no editings from nn-xt, played through membranes :)

Nice one, waiting man.
As said, this is a fantastic drumset.

Could you provide the midi file of this example. Just wanna see how I can improve my keyboard drumming...

It sounds so realistic.

Patrice, I've trashed the session, sorry.
I'll upload some tomorrow.

probably it's the bits of press rolls.

FWIW, I'm sure this mapping is wrong (btw, I managed to load the kit in Kontakt 2, I'll gladly tell anybody interested how I did). Kontakt 2 mapped it the same, so I'm sure this is wrong in the initial file too. The reason: The lower leveled samples are mapped to higher velocities.
I'm going to place the samples upside down in my conversions.

You got it Sascha. I verified the four waves in Audacity and visually (and sonically too!) 04 is louder than 01.

Good find...

Now, I must correct the sf2 I uploaded on Audioshots.

Awesome drums wm. I'd like to see the midi file too if you have it - like to pick up some programming tips from your drumming :D

This sample set is amazing - can't wait to try it woth some groove monkee loops :D
