I just realized he's Australian. That explains everything.

I have 2 more things. I wish that pan would have an envelope just like fliter cutoff, resonance, volume and pitch.

I also wish that the time offset under the func tab would have it's own LFO section, including white noise/S&H to help humanize drumming when you need to.

So when is FL6 comming out?

Oi! Just because it used to be called "Fruity" doesn't mean it's gay. :hihi:

I always assumed that the words "fruity loops" sound like something that gives them another meaning in whatever language they speak in Belgium, or something.

fruity loops is simply a comedic term referring to fruit loops

A couple of simple options I'd have liked to have seen implemented a long time ago,
1. Option for spacebar to stop cursor without returning to the beginning (at the moment you must use CTRL + Spacebar for pause to do this)
2. Option for patterns and playlist not to loop.

Post

This has probably been mentioned before but anyway.

I like the concept behind flstudio but two things that I find annoying;

1. The colour scheme is far too dark (who turned out the lights ? )

2. The GUI is far too cluttered and lacking integration.

Post

Things missing for me:

1) More export options- (ie: i don't like how if i export a pattern it has loop information; i want the option to export things to mono; more export file formats)

2) .aiff support

3) A method to arrange plug-ins (say by type or manufacturer, as opposed to a big, ugly list of plugins, some of which aren't relevant to FL (some of the DX plugs which other software installs). Oh, and the whole plugin view is in a different color scheme to the rest of the app!)

4) Fruity never has (and i assume, never will) enjoyed talking to my hardware equipment in a way that pro-tools and cubase do.

5) Audio clips in FL are f**king AWEFUL.

6) IMO, the Piano Roll sucks- i know people love it here but i find it infinately more difficult to use than ProTools/Cubase' equivelant (and i used FL first), and it doesn't have enough ZOOM.

7) "Automation clips"- really, really ugly.

Anyway, not to pay out on FL, i could think of 7 things i really like in it which aren't in other sequencers...

If you call that 'missing' ;)

hoffy As an avid FL piano roll fan, I'd love to hear what these others mentioned offer that make them more usable for you :) Not to pick a fight but to see what it is about piano rolls in different hosts that work for people (my current hosts' piano rolls are total garbage compared to FL for example)

My dream FL would most likely expand the browser (say 3 tabs, one has the internal dirs, the other one contains those user configurable ones and the third one gives access to each drive on your system), would lose the current step sequencer and instead contain a "channel" toolbar in its place with added controls for things (think about the Inspector in Cubase and equivalents in others), step sequencer getting revamped and reshaped (the 'floating' property popups at a fixed position, viewable simultaneously, and so on) and...

Perhaps even a slight redesign of the upper part of the window - select which things you want to see, in what order, so that the menu and close buttons etc. adhere to the typical Windows style. I can see those toolbars up there which I'd never use, and if it was more organizeable I could gain some screen estate.

Oh, and an extended amount of internal controllers so it would be possible to build one's preferred "mixer aid" / mixer substitute / mixer controller in Dashboard and have everything at hand, in one screen, in the way one prefers =)

Sample start as a parameter in the regular sampler channel.

Time shift going negative - a useful compositional tool. Especially if it was available in a more direct way - hence the wish above about a "channel toolbar / inspector".

Possibility to view all four subpages of a channel as one wide chunk instead of how it is now - an option in Preferences for this so people can choose how they want it shown.

Finally, I wish I could purchase FL immediately, instead of this financial cack related to moving :P (means I also won't be purchasing this Prophecy right now, dammit)

JMH

1. resize things
2. acid layout of song and looping
3. Audio clips

the fuckin little mixer...i'm bored about that.

Another one: I'd like the markers to show up (and behave appropriately) in the piano roll windows so you don't have to switch to the playlist just to jump to a certain spot.

Ok people know I've complained about the GUI but I just want to clarify one thing. I like the dark colors. The thing I don't like about it is that it feels like it is trying to look like a cartoon. It's a bit flashy in a subtle way that just gets under my skin a bit. Still a great app though.
