Hey i was wondering if theres a way i can hook up 2 guitars threw my soundcard and run a different chainer for each guitar? so that me and one of my friends dor something can jam on the same comp threw VST's? i know Rig Kontrol on Guitar Rig can do this but i dont have that. So i was wondering if you can do this threw a PC soundcard? any help would be great. thanks

If you want different FX on each guitar simultaneously you need a multi-input soundcard...
A work around would be to record one guitar at a time (providing you have some kind of multitrack software).

ive done it thru my audiophile 192 with two DI boxes (one for left 1/4 inch input, one for right), loaded sonar, loaded an instance of guitar rig on each, tracked two guitars with totally different settings. but without guitar rig, id say get a good sound card and sonar. amplitude is cheap and with a good signal booster rocks the house.
ive almost given up guitar rig for it and synth effects as opposed to the normal guitar stuff. the korg legacy ms-20 filters thru a guitar lead and and a percise eq from amplitude kills a guitar rig setup to me, but the DI box is crucial.

All soundcards are multi input, from two to more inputs.
You only need a simpel two input (stereo) soundcard to do what you want.
You can take channel 1 (left)
And your friend channel 2 (right)
And remember to configure the inputs in your daw
Thats it.
