Help with ASIO SDK host application

Hi

Could anyone help me with the ASIO API from Steinberg? I want to program a very very simple ASIO host application. I want to use the ASIO hostsample.cpp. I can initialize the driver, set the sample rate, buffer size, create the buffers and start the driver. But I can't write the buffers correctly. I want to use the hostsample from Steinberg. Can anyone explain me how to write the buffers with sample data and how to use the callback functions?
It would help me a lot.
