update...at this time fed ex still can't track my package, but the page says it was sent two day fed ex so I assume if it shipped out Saturday today is 1 and tomorrow is 2...no?

Anyhow I did get an email from Cakewalk today that states my copy of Sonar was automatically registered and they sent me my serial number and registration code...

Yeah, Fed-Ex is kind of slow when it comes to making the tracking info available online. I recently ordered some stuff from Muscian's Friend and the packages arrived before the tracking info was made available, lol. 2-day Fed-Ex usually means 2 business days, weekends not included. Did it say what day it was actually shipped out?

I'm kind of annoyed with Cakewalk's online ordering process...
I order a lot of music gear and computer hardware/software online and have never had a problem figuring out what the status of my order is. Not to sound snobby, but was surprised to see that Cakewalk uses a generic "Yahoo store" for their online orders... Yahoo stores are typically used by mom/pop and small business, I'm surprised a company like Cakewalk dosn't have their own shopping cart system in place...

That being said, I ordered the s5 upgrade on Wednesday night, and just finally today on Monday, my credit card was charged. I assume that means my order was finally shipped... but can't tell for sure because I havn't recieved any email updates from Cakewalk, nor has customer service responded to my email inquiry which I sent out on Friday. Looks like I have to call the 1-800 number later to find out what's going on.

Cakwalk makes awesome software, but their online ordering system sucks balls.

Did it say what day it was actually shipped out?

now it says it shipped out today (from londerry nh, about 15 miles away)...I'm curious how I got the shipping notice before it shipped

...it says delivery wednesday...It's so damn close I could walk there by then...

it's all good though...

They probably have the Fed-Ex packaging supplies in their office with the tracking #'s pre-printed on the boxes. When you got the notification email, it probably just meant that it was packed and waiting for Fed-Ex to pick up.

If you're only 15 miles away, then you might actually get it on Tuesday! I say this because I order computer hardware from NewEgg.com who uses "4-5 Day Fed-Ex" service... I live about 20 miles away and it only takes 1 day for my packages to arrive.

Man, are we anxious or what? LOL!

I had wanted to start some recording projects this week, but put it on hold for this S5 update...
ca' maaaaan! haha

So I just called Cakewalk, they answered the phone very quickly, no touch-tone hell to go through, lol. The guy looked up my order, it's still in the "processing" phase, said it should probably ship tomorrow. So I guess if that happens, I might get it on Thursday... As long as I get it by the end of the week, I'll be happy.

Then I saw this on Cakwalk's customer service page:
"Domestic US - FedEx 2Day - $8.95 (allow 5-7 business days for processing and delivery)"

Yeah, they weren't kidding about that processing time, lol.

keeping my fingers crossed it gets here today...tomorrow is fine, but I do have some things I would like to do besides wait around...it still says delivery for the 28th...but here's the latest...this looks to me that it's on a Fed Ex truck making it's way to my house today..

I ordered Sonar 4 when they offered the Sonar 5 update free. So far I have no word that my copy of Sonar 5 has shipped.

Same here... still no word. They've already charged my credit card too. I'm sure they got a ton of orders, but it's taking 5 days to put it in a box and send it out?

Damn, now I'm pissed... I ordered 1 day after you and no shipment notice yet... I might have to cancel and switch to Cubase now.

no I'm pissed...the installer refuses to open...

I've tried and tried ...I get a cool flash video then it just closes..

Browse the CD and find the setup.exe manually. I get that flash crash crap with a lot of CDs that use that kind of launcher app.

I hope it's a launcher app causing this with your Sonar CD, and not the actual installer being corrupt.

Hink is it one installer or two? One could be for the 64 bit version the other for the 32 bit one. Just a theory, as I don't have it yet.

Also, if multiple people use your machine under different ID's, make sure your installing it under the administrator's login. I know some software can be picky about that stuff.
