White noise generator. Where can I get one?

I need a hardware version that I can hook into my stereo.

Priced around $20 U.S. hopefully, and available in the States.

I have nothing useful to add, but I just have to know why you need one? Wouldn't an hour long CD of white noise on repeat do? If so, anyone here could make one (unless it is copyrighted by John Cage or someone).

I've seen people make interesting devices out of those build-your-own radio device Junior science kits. The toys you see at Radio Shack, basically. Your money might get you some white noise and some tools to make other noises with as well.

I want it to mask out noise while I sleep.

I have been using my stereo's FM tuned between stations for quite a long time, but suddenly the sound is fluctuating soo much that it is annoying instead of masking.

Right now I an using the MDA tone generator as a plugin in my sequencer but I don't want to be running the system all night for that.

I did some googling and found some circuit dagrams that I may be able to build.

Plug a phaser inbetween? Nice sea shore effect!! Or are there some nice CD's available in the GoodKarma shop? Or record one 80 minute track of MDA on a CD-R...
