;-) I've done the sfz map for the Cymbals-Performance hits... The rest look like being done by hand with EXSC just to display the existing HALion settings, so will take some time. Might get done today... I'll upload the whole lot when done.

Everyone the DR-008 kit is great and makes full use of the original samples :band:

And because of Sascha’s mapping of the DR-008 its made it possible to do a SFZ version – now uploaded just under Sascha’s post at the Auditorium

And GIRO the samples in this kit are amazing - really really good work imo thank you :)

Best regards,

Peter
Just want to make sure no one misses the news

Pljones are you doing the sfz for kit 2?

Best regards,

Peter

I'll do the Kit 2 one at some point. I've done the C/P and Kit 1 so far.

Cymbals-Performance
G&S CW-Drum Kit-1 (doesn't like the & or spaces here...)
These expect to be in a folder (called e.g. "sfz") alongside "Single Patches" and the others.

I've some minor tweaks to do to Kit 1 before I move onto Kit 2. The above mapping should pretty much match the HALion map, though. (Couple of commented adjustments.) I'm going to try to smooth the velocity transitions...

I'll put a page on my website for these eventually...

Forgot to copy the open hat zones. Corrected file uploaded. Same link as before.

Thank you GIRO for this wonderful set. I only had time to test it, but it sounded great.

You're quite the converting machine!

Does the Battery mapping load into K2 well?

Didn't try yet (been staring at all those little digits for long enough allready), but apparently the EXS mappings do (well, the groups are all messed up, so you gotta reassign them all manually, but that's a K2 issue).
Unfortunately, for the EXS kit #1 mappings to load properly you'd have to rename some samples (as described in the ReadMe).
Why don't you just check out the Battery files in K2 and tell us? Most likely I won't even bother switching my DAW back on again today...

What is the best version for the DR-008? Battery? Should both kits work with DR-008? (Sorry if I missed something, I did not read through the netire thread).

The Battery kits are working fine in DR-008, but I uploaded the dedicated DR-008 versions as well.

Cool! I wonder if these kits are better than Drumkit From Hell 2.

My K2 upgrade should arrive tomorrow! :)

(And SONAR 5 arrived this morning! :D)

Really, DR-008 is my drum sampler of choice so K2 compat doesn't matter to me (as much, that is: maybe skripting or convolution will make it worthwhile!), but I figured Battery->K2 would be a sure-win time-saver translation since NI makes them both.

As I allready started to map out things manually I didn't try your mono conversions, Klemperer. Will do so for kit #2.
Thanks a lot Sascha for these patches... I work mainly with DR-008. I had made DR-008 patches but with embedded waves because of the "sample-name-cutting" of Awave.

Now, I can share the same folders between VSampler and DR-008 depending which one I use.

I wouldn't happen to know - yet ;)
I guess they're less flexible (just one snare per kit), but there's some true goodies inside them, plus the samples are sounding very good IMO (I think I'll tweak them a bit though, such as in stripping out one or two kick and snare layers that don't seem to fit too well for my taste).

Btw, you may notice that in kit #2 the closed hats are mapped like "even numbered velocity zones on F#1, odd numbered ones on F#2" - this seems to be a nice idea to me, easily avoiding machine gun like hats.

For realistic drums I seem to prefer Battery 2 these days (because adjusting multiple cells at once is so easy - almost impossible in DR-008), but for anything quick and dirty DR-008 is still my top choice. Guess Drum 9 (in case it ever shows up...) will be the "mother of all drum samplers".
Oh well, and Battery 2 does a good job in disk streaming.

Anyways, these are some great drumsets and I'm just having some fun with them (whenever I got the time I might come up with different combinations, we'll see... I'll keep you folks informed).
