In reference to the other thread, i realized this Reaktor 4 instrument series, "Squarepusherizer" would be most useful for making this type of glitch/hyper drum & bass music. The new version was designed incorporating features from Tim Exile's live chopping patch video.

here is a thread from another forum with detailed instructions.

Sometimes these work in Reaktor 5 but ocassionally they will crash upon loading. I use all of these patches a lot, great stuff...

Squarepusher actually uses an Akai sampler to cut up his beats, but I forget which model. I'm sure if you dig around you could find the exact same thing, and do it the way he does it. You could probably use any halfway decent sampler with a good sequencer and get similar results.

He may use some akai samplers on his early material, especially Hard normal daddy. His heavy use of midi synced dsp stuttering effects on albums like Go Plastic leads me to believe he no longer uses hardware samplers. In fact he says in interviews that he made Go Plastic album primarily on computers. Im sure his work on previous albums could have been done on Akai samplers though.

cool. Where's that .ens to make music like Oval?? :hihi:

Post

funny you ask, Martin Brinkman a reaktor patch creator has made a sequencer for R3 that did just that. It didnt specifcally mention Oval but it was pretty obvious what it was designed to do when the controls for the interface were arranged in a perfect distinct oval shape.

sorry for sounding stupid but what exactly is oval? Is there a url for it?
