Ghawds... that's another real one? Puff Daddy and Jimmy Page? I keep hoping certain of these combinations are fake. =8-O

Sometimes I feel awfully naive. Always I feel... erm, not up on pop culture and stuffs.

it was from the "godzilla" soundtrack, another bomb..."hip hop" has become the main commercial music for at least the last 10 years, at one time it may have been the "CNN of the ghetto"...in the area i live it's become the soundtrack to utter ignorant bullshit... everyone wants to be a "thug" now, it's sad really...

that goof diddy had the nerve to name something "we invented the remix", i'm listening to some good dub reggae/ska at the moment...who invented the remix? hip hop has turned into another commercial, slick, over produced, bland product...at least "yummy yummy yummy" was fun and catchy, this modern product lacks cleverness, lasting charm (ever notice the short shelf-life in hip hop fashion/lingo/acts ?), i liked earlier rap because it had some of the same qualities of good rock, folk, punk, industrial, electronic, whatever...basically any of the seminal youth culture stuff from the 60's on...this crap today is empty of values and vacant of original, lasting quality...now i'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, especially in underground circles but that's not what i'm talking about...i see how the bs has trickled down into the everyday "kid in the street" (around ME anyway) and the crass materialism is obvious...ya know, no one is singing about peace and love...it's everyone for themselves: i assure you, the message is not getting lost...

marilyn manson should be barred from ruining everyone else's music (i.e. patti smith, depeche mode etc..). he should also be barred from making music (if that qualifies as music).

instead, when he comes up with an idea for a cover, there should be a law that devo will do that cover instead and the manson version never sees the light of day.
