By comparison, I find that when messing with presets, I end up twiddling too many dials and lose that great sound I had two twiddles ago. Some days this feels to be the story of my life

Cool - it was actually your post about video tutorials that reminded me. What I'm considering is a 10 min tutorial for CamelSpace, CamelPhat and Cameleon 5000. It would be flash video with screen capture and voiceover, covering the most important areas in that time. Does that sound helpful?

The group buy continues to go nuts 811 points at last count. Its goint to be close but another 189 points before it closes seems possible, and therefore the video tutorials are in sight.

I'm fired up. Ordered camelphat & camelspace. I'm actually (barely, technically) eligible for the very generous educational discount, which is very slightly cheaper, but decided to go with the group buy for the extra presets and the general goodness of the group buy thing. Nice.

I know you're joking around - but for the sake of others reading here, I'd best point out that the extra banks will take a little while. I've got to commision them, then the sound designers have to make them. The thing is with presets, is there's a big difference between good ones and rubbish ones Making the good ones takes a lot of time and vicious editing. Still, we will get on the case and have them out just as soon as we can.

What makes a tutorial outstanding is if I can learn something that enables me to make a great sound or three almost straightaway. Do this, and it's always worth it.
