Thanks for all the feedback! I guess I was wondering if anyone has a favorite AU compressor that they use. I'm using D.P. 4.6 and the compressor it comes with is marginal at best. Any thoughts??
thanks

I think most agree that the UAD-1 stuff is king. If you want to stay strictly software, have a look at the Wave Arts plugs, Sonalksis, PSP's Vintage Warmer and Master Comp (Don't think Mac version is out yet) and Neodynium from Elemental Audio.
I use Neodynium and Vintage Warmer and I'm currently demoing Sonalksis.

Hard to say there's THE winner, it strongly depends for what you need it and how you want it to sound like.burger wrote:And the winner for best AU plug in compressor is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,????

My favorites are Sonalksis and PSP MixPressor. I use Sonalksis for kind, gentle compression and PSP for the vintage-like, pumping stuff.
Although they're not the compressors I dreamed of... but for me, they are the best I got. I often heard good things from UAD-1 (hardware based dsp-system) and Kjaerhus Audio (PC only).
Would be happy to hear, if there was something better for AU native, too, on market than my both!
