Opinions on orchestra host

Ok, i'd like some opinions on a setup I want to get.

First, what I have/have used is Edirol orchestral, and the cakewalk music creator 2002 that came with it for a while. It's been ok, but I can't say I love the cakewalk software, but it's nice to be able to look at notation some times.

What I'd like to get is the East West Quantum Leap Gold version. I was wondering, would Sonar be a good host for it (with the kompact sampler?) and would I be able to do the same things with sonar that I can with music creator? (midi volume envelopes, etc, I don't see those on other hosts like acid or orion) My local circuit city has sonar 4 on sale for like $80 (i'm assuming because sonar 5 is coming out).

Any opinions about either east wes QL or sonar 4 and how they would work together? Thanks!
