The Squids Tron Collection is available for a limited time! This is something I've been regretting not getting.

Also, the 50 free combi's for Philharmonik are available for download free. It's on your "members area" page. Make sure when you download it, that you check out the readme file. It has a secret coupon code for $10 off your next eSoundz purchase. Thanks for that Squids!

Don't forget if you use the coupon to make a purchase, that you can get your $5 worth of epointz by using harmonygardens as a referrer.

Harmony

I checked the link and it says that it is available from now until Oct 15, 2004. So is it available, or is it an old page? I have noticed that I can still access the last group guy at its final price too, even though the link on esoundz has gone. Is this still available? I don't have either of these due to lack of funds at the time.

Regardless of whether the entire Tron Collection is still available, most of the better individual sounds from that collection are available in the download section now. I am however surprised to see that the Chamberlin piano is not listed in the download section. I think that one is a real gem, though it's probably not for everyone.

Am I missing something?

I don't see any preview links for the individual Trons samples. I'm tempted to download a few, but I'd need to hear the individual samples to decide which ones would sit best alongside my copy of M-Tron.

Cool, great heads up about the individual downloads, as I had to let the Tron Collection pass up and really really love my Tron sounds. Plus buying them a few at a time probably works better for me. Just one thing though, individual clips of the sounds in action would be great, even if only 5 seconds. I'd just need to get a quick feel for them. And Squids, I didn't kinow you were selling sounds individually, way to go, I like this!
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Squids hasn't told us about the extra delivery instructions given to my postie to put the parcel by the outside bin on the day the bins are emptied, instead of delivering it. (I kid you not, this happened today).

Good job the girlfriend spotted it on her way out to work.

PS This is a semi joke and has nothing to do with Squids or SR. The same postie did a similar thing last week, when he left a box of books out by the bins in the rain, instead of leaving it in the porch which was a much drier place to leave it. I now have three slightly damp books...
I'll be having words.

PPS Just got home it was my world instruments package.....

Yep - that's the page I looked at, but I can't find any preview audio clips for the individual samples. Am I the only one?

You're right, there are no preview clips up yet. Perhaps these will be added later?

Also, I want to mention that the harmonium samples with the pumping noise are pretty cool as well (these are the ones around 50mb). Although they are listed in the tron section, these aren't tron samples, they were just a bonus that Squids threw into the group buy collection to sweeten the deal. I didn't think I would have much use for harmonium samples, but these sound really nice.

Yeah, we brought that one back for a little while. I forgot to announce it though. Kind of a secret find! (we'll have to change the date though). I like to make some surprises you have to find on esoundz.com so it keeps you all coming back! There will be tons in the downloadable sound sections. We have some REALLY cool surprises coming there. You guys don't even know about the new "MP-E" which makes big use of that esoundz download icon button. ;) Don't worry there will be plenty of riff demos for the individual instruments. We're trying to get each one it's own demo.

If anyone lives in south Florida and wants a gig making demos all day long let me know! But, we have Mr. Tunes, Rob, Elijah and myself doing them for now. Cranking away!

What is on the the 2 Bonus Discs and how many gigs of sounds is it altogether?

Mostly quirky, funky, unusual tron and chamberlin sounds! These are things we might not normally release because it includes some tape warble and stuff but that is really one of the main things that makes those instruments so great. So a lot of people like those discs the BEST. It's a couple gigs total I believe.

To add to what Squids said, the two bonus disks include a couple of non-tron instruments: a toy piano and the Jon Brion harmonium. The bonus disks also include additional Tron/Chamberlin samples, some of which are unlooped.

You might try and find the group buy thread from last fall. Squids spent a lot of time describing the collection in that thread.

As Squids suggested, some of the sounds in this collection are lo-fi even by tron standards. Some of the samples are scratchy and very wobbly, which is part of the fun of some of them. The Optigan and Orchestron samples for example tend to be pretty messed up. Other sounds are much cleaner sounding (comparatively speaking).

If all someone wants are some of the classic tron sounds (e.g., choir, strings, flute, etc.), you might be better off just buying the individual downloadable sounds. But if you are a real tron enthusiast, or if you really like lo-fi sounds in general, then Squids' Tron Collection might be for you. It's a given that you'll find things in this collection that you won't find anyplace else. It even includes farm animal noises. :)
