Hi folks,
I'm a lurker at KVR since long time and I've found it as a very useful site, with a great, helpful community. This time I've thought to give my little contribution, hoping that it could help somebody.
I was browsing sites in search of vinyl scratches, when I stubled upon this one:
http://www.magurno.com
There are very good scratches, IMHO, with that "old school" taste.. for the Hip-Hop/Breakbeat guys out there.
Cheers!

First of all, thanks for appreciating: if I'll find more links I'll post them for sure, and I'll check that they haven't been posted previously.
About "Samples Vs Software": since scratches were born as something strictly related to hands and external hardware, for my personal taste I can say I haven't been able to find a software emulator that makes me feel satisfied yet. It's an issue similar to the Fender Rhodes Piano emulators Vs the original samples, or CD Vs Vinyl and whatnot.
It's just my humble opinion, maybe the fact that I was a child in the '70s, influences my point of view, anyway the samples can be easily cut in small parts and re-mixed as well.
Cheers!

i just use my numark. often you can find direct drive turntables that are rock solid fairly cheap if you are fine with second hand gear.....even new it's not that bad for what can be done with one.
it's not hard to scratch...mostly it involves rhythm. it's best to have a dj mixer as well to fade out certain frequencies on certain scratches...plus you'll need some kind of ground for it anyway. to record scratches you only need one table. it's more fun, will fit songs better once you mess with it for a while, can't beat the real thing, and did i mention it is fun.
for putting scratches in your songs you don't need a 1200....just make sure it is direct drive and very solid.
it's cool you found that stuff and posted it....just letting you know how you can get a whole bunch more.....ahhh yeah and lp's usually go for about 1 dollar. it's hard to beat that in the long run. buying a turntable was one of the best purchases i've made in music...getting another one soon.

LOL @ AKJ: I feel a bit old too... sigh!I was a child in the 70s, too (I am so old Sad Be a bit more open minded and try FL Scratcher and Wavetrevller (there is a free demo of FL Studio)
Don't worry I am open minded: I'll try the demo of FL studio and, if I'll find it useful, I'll buy it!
@ Distorted_Mastermind:
hey, many thanks for the detailed advice: I regret I didn't buy a professional turntable yet, but I think I could do it when I get some money (sigh!). Then I'll bother you guys for learning scratches techniques, LOL!
@ tERMoBLUe:
No problem, mate: hope to find more soon!

Hey, I was right to say that KVR is a great community: I've just suggested a link, and.. WOW, what a positive feedback! BTW I've downloaded the other samples too, and I share also the opinion that site has a very nice layout. I'd like to tell that guy to make more free samples, haha: maybe I'll write him.
Keep it up!
