SX-3 recording starts 3/4 measure late

Everytime I start to record after a 4 beat precount, the actual recording doesn't take place until about 3/4 of a measure later. What gives? I was given a test measure that showed nothing is actually wrong with sx-3, just some setting somewhere but I can't figure out whats causing this way off timing. I've started with a new project but still the same thing.

I'll assume that you are recording from the left locator? If so, its a common problem with SX on some systems. Basically, there is so much info required to commence on your first beat, that SX can sometimes struggle. To work round it, just take the left counter back a bar or so, so that you start recording before you start playing.

You mean "I'll assume that your left locator is positioned at the beginning of the song", right? (It's good advice not to start your song on measure 0)Manc Chris wrote:I'll assume that you are recording from the left locator?
dblock - What version of Cubase are you using? Are you recording MIDI or Audio? Is the recorded info delayed or are you missing the recorded info altogether for 3/4 measure and then it comes in in sync with the song correctly? What soundcard are you recording through?

No. I meant what I said
If your audio system is not rock solid, then the symptons as described by the poster can become apparent.
Either way, the guy is probably on 3.02, (A lot of them about these days

okay, yes we did go through this before. I'm going to go over the test zip file annode sent me with a fine tooth comb again. This time the recording shows up just before the first click.I will be bald soon and xbox ready.
I'm using 3.0.2, locator starting at "1".Weird that now instead of starting 7 bars late like before, when I hit the keyboard on the beat,it actually records that hit before the beat. Sorry guys I'm trying to figure it out but figure I've nothing to lose posting the issue while I try to figure it out.

ok, this is what it looks like.
1 2 3 4 , play 2 3 4 but when I hit the note,it shows up as a dash that was on the 1 count for literally a split second but jumps back to 3 before the 1 count it should have stayed at. When I play it back it starts at that 3 as if that is where I had hit the first note. Does that make sense?

Try updating to 3.1dblock wrote: I'm using 3.0.2
Failing that, I would not start a song on the first measure in most hosts. It tends to be problematic. Try moving everything a couple measures to the right.
