Radiohead by a long shot.

Nirvana (Although it did bring us Dave Grohl, who is a god).

The Sex Pistols. In no way did they ever truly represent punk (and before anyone says, I was there ;)).

Bruce Springsteen. All he ever had was a tight backing band.

Oh yes, and anything involving Pete Doherty is crass and worthless, much like his life. If anyone wanted to go the same way as Cobain, it is he.

There, that should have you guys slinging arrows at me for some while :hihi: LOL

Having just looked at that BBC 6 list, I'd agree with half that list (see above). Even tho' I detest Oasis, they brought something to the table (even if Lennon & McCartney had brought it 30 years previously).

I think The Smiths, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, U2 & Coldplay (the remainder featured on that list) are far from overated IMHO, although each to their own :)

here we go...ha ha...

i don't care (except sex pistols, how dare you! who cares about representing punk? it's a great album, especially being the "punk" equivalent of the monkees or backstreet boys), they are opinions, but since most of what you mention are on that "most overrated album" list linked a few posts back i'll add...

The Smiths...i don't get it...those overly "clever" lyrics, pedestrian music, and hype hype hype....i just don't get it...and those ladies shirts...don't get it...

(EDIT) A HA! you editied before i got my post out...figures, you are smiths fan, say no more, say no more....

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Coldplay and Radiohead are crap, sorry overrated.
Robbie Williams and Westlife are certainly contenders as well.

Will there be a thread called 'Who's underrated?' now?
