Crash on Plugin scan

Lately, I've been trying to use Audition and Live to mess around with some new plugins, and well...I can't.

Everytime I try to open Live, it completely crashes without giving any prompt. It crashes it seems, during the scanning of the plugins folder.

The same exact thing also happens with Audition, I'll open the program fine, and go to refresh my plugins, but getting to about 28% percent, it crashes with no prompt.

Basically, do any of you guys know of some way I could figure out what plugin is causing the problem (if any), or at least where I could find an error log of some sort? I've got no clues, and would like to try out some new stuff and get back to recording.

With vst's its easy, if potentially a bit time consuming. Just move all your plugs into another directory and put them back one at a time (or better still do a binary split).
With Dxi's you'll have to de-install them.

Now with improved MIDI jitter!

Like nuffink said, take all your plugs out, and restart. If it doesn't crash, its your VSTis.

If that's the case, do the "binary split", which means, move 1/2 your plugs in, if that doesn't crash, move 1/2 of the remaining. If it crashes, remove that half, and move the other half in.

Continue until you determine which plugin causes it.

FYI Audition uses VST (FX) not VSTis (instruments).

But Live uses VST(FX) and VSTis... Which was the first host he mentioned.
