Mac OS 10.4 / Cubase SE / Core Audio

Okay I am a dork, but this problem shouldn't be that hard, It's just the Metronome. Yes I know how to use it, but All I want to do is record the metronome with some guitar/vocal parts (audibly), so my friend a drummer can play to the click as he records his parts at his house. (for me later.)

I tried routing a cord from the headphone (out) to the mic jack (in) and recording in real time, but it is out of sync. (of course) I tried using the midi click method (just using the LM7) but I either can't understand exactly how it works, or it isn't working correctly.
Wouldn't it be great to have a "record with click" button or something simple? I've spent 2 hours on this and it has ruined my recording session morale. please help, i would be ever so greatful.

seems like I've recorded the metronome (not intentionally, btw!) but can't remember how I did it.
why not just load up a drum machine and record a few bars of quarter note hihats?
oops, I see you've tried lm7..what did you not understand?

Why not just use a VST instrument (like LM7) and program a 4-count in the Key Editor - then you can bounce that count to a wave file and duplicate it to fill the song length? (you also wouldn't have a huge wave file that way)

hay nokiss try this... get a wav sample of a metronome shot.. or any other percussive shot.. Import it in cubase and edit the audio part so its exactly the length of one quarter bar... place it at the start of an audio track... next use the repeat function ( ctrl+K) and enter 100 or some hig number, and there, u r ready to go... its an audio track and so will be included in your final audio mixdown...

CUBASE USERS PLEASE HELP...
