A bit more complex, as it is 3-bands plus hi/lo shelves, but WWAYM NWEQ is worth checking out, too.

Yes, but IMHO it sucks a bit.hrm ... uuh ... doesn't your host provide an EQ?
I really appreciate your suggestions!
Anyone else?
Rest assured I'm looking around myself, too.
wish I knew synthedit.
I try to care and understand.

Use posihfopit. Set bands to 3 band, linear economy and store it as default! Everytime you open it, you will have your 3band EQ. The sound is very similar to the one of the built-in ones of your host. If you later need more bands, just drag a new one out of the EQ-Curve. And if you need a more classic sound, just switch to 'classic'.Marybelle wrote:hrm ... uuh ... doesn't your host provide an EQ?
I hate to do advertisment, but i think posihfopit is simple and powerful. It does what you need and much more,

can I as what it is that sucks about your host's eqs? Many hosts have fully parametric eqs (3band), I know some people are used to a fix frequency range and constant width and the fully parametric becomes very overwhelming...if that's the case there are many good sources for the frequencies of instruments to guide you.Marybelle wrote:Yes, but IMHO it sucks a bit.hrm ... uuh ... doesn't your host provide an EQ?

If you just think they sound bad I am curious as to why, tbh I have found that every host I have tried has okay eqs...often when rendering tracks we forget to leave room for eqing...eq's can push a good signal to clip...just a couple suggestions...

Hink, yeah, I think it's the former. I find it overkill to use multipal band eqs for slight overall adjustments. The host EQ that I have in Acid just sounds harsh to me. Maybe I'm on crack, but I doubt it. I think I'll try Christian's idea. I do have his EQ here. I was just hoping for a slider/knob type GUI (like an old componant stereo) that sounded like Posihfopit or Kjaerhus Classic.Hink wrote:can I as what it is that sucks about your host's eqs? well if you decide to explore more complicated eqs I'm sure they're be plenty here willing to help you, myself included...I would suggest you give some consideration to gaining some understanding to parametric eqs...it's amazing how a little knowledge opens a lot of doors...the more doors that open, the more knowledge you gain....which opens more doors...I find taking on things I don't fully understanding is quite fun discovering new things and it's always a nice reward to have learned something new...not to mention what it does for you and your confidence...Marybelle wrote:Hink, yeah, I think it's the former. Dude, that's the whole point. I don't WANT any more complicated eqs. I'm looking for something SIMPLE. And, no, I'm not some dumb c**t who can't figure out CrunchEQ or whatever. I'm just pining for the converse. That's all.

Try this one. (lo-mid-hi) I want one myself and I keep working on it. It's lot's more simple to make a 5-7 band EQ and get it right.

The easy thing to do is make it parametric but I'd like to avoid that too.

tomg, thanks for the link. I'm DLing now. It's easier to make a multiband band EQ? That's interesting. Why is that?
