You don't have to. My wife will corroborate my story. Anyway who else but a process-oriented dilettante would waste valuable time that should be used for billable work or career enhancing achievement to wax poetic about art and ephemeral crap while sharing so-called "songs" with a bunch of people he's never actually met on the internet?

@ Wopelka, would you say you are an artistic midwife? :hihi:

Post

not that i don't like structures and plans. it's just not my way of working with music. when write, i'm a hell more "goal-directed", for example.

thanks, it's the word i was looking for - but i didn't know it. :D

I mess around, and if I'm lucky I remember to press record. Then I start the process of removing shite and adding gold, often getting it the wrong way around. Then I mix too fast and master too sloppily, and finish before I'm done. Then I post on the internet and go :dog:!

I think art works best when you start with a goal but then define a process to get there . . . and let the process go where it will.

It's the skate on the knife's edge between control and abandon where the most effective pieces of art come from . . . intent and exploration in equal measure.
