After using Philharmonik for over a month now and very much enjoying it, I realize how much I'd like to see cc#11 implemented in ALL the instruments (except of course percussion, piano, etc.).

I notice that the 'looped' versions of brass for instance don't have the 'expd' patches. This seems odd given that players breath can hold a note longer at a soft dynamic, so the looped versions are if anything more likely to better utilize expression.

I prefer these patches over the AMV as my EWQSLO and other libraries are setup for cc#11 controlling expression. I can assign it myself of course but it doesn't work quite the same as when it was 'built-in' to the patches.

Squids, can we see this implemented in the looped versions in the next update?? :)

Yeah, we'll do more child presets. The problem was that the product was originally supposed to have about 1,200 sounds (incl child presets) but then as usual we went wild with extras like Breath Control patches, EXPD, AMV etc. and there are over 4,000!!!! So, we had to just STOP and put the product out even though there are more child patches that I can think of for convenience (this being some of them). I think we'll just do a bunch of them and make a free download as an extra... cuz we're nice that way and what you all to be happy with the product! It'd be convenient to have for myself too because I use Philharmonik all the time. Honestly, between SampleTank 2.1, Sonik Synth 2, Philharmonik and an early version of Studiophonik I have written more songs than I ever have before in the past few months. :D

Can we hear the songs? :D

Eventually. I am producing a pop record with an Irish singer who sounds like a cross between Neil Finn and the Goo Goo Dolls guy. It's been a lot of fun. I've been doing it only with those four plug-ins (plus some ET and SC) as well as my Danelectro acoustic/electric convertible guitar which I love. It is really easy to play and sounds real raw. Running it through a preliminary version of AmpliTube 2 but I am soon going to be running it through an updated version... it won't be long before many of you will be able to have the same set up (okay, maybe minus the Danelectro which is rare ;) ).

I hope that you'll be hearing some of these tunes on the radio though (don't we all? ;) ). It's pretty pop though. But, a fun challenge. I am writing also some music for a Genesis-esque prog project (at a slower pace) and some of that less serious fun stuff I might be able to play as well as a jazz record that is an on-going project. But, thanks for your interest. I should and will share something.

Oh, I will probably make a few pop/rock/classic rock demos using Philharmonik to show it in that light. It's JUST what you need for that! Lays in so beautifully. I cannot imagine anyone not wanting Philharmonik. I've been using it practically every song since I've had it.

What sequencer are you using? If you can map CC11 (expression) to CC1 (modwheel) as a global setting, then you can use all the AMV child presets and automatically have CC11 do it's magic without having to do any extra setup.

I'm using SONAR 4. Thanks for the tip but actually I tried that though it winds up being more work mainly because it requires having to go back and re-do all the expression curves to match the AMV presets. This is also what I run into with GPO, so it's not just Philharmonik.

I find though, the 'expd' presets to match pretty well the other libraries. I can just substitute Philharmonik instruments on a given track without any or much tweaking.

Philharmonik has the lush romantic sound that is lacking in my other libraries and I find myself substituting parts with it quite often.

I'll be waiting anxiously for the extra child presets Squids mentioned! :)
