Hi all, been watching for a while, now like to ask for help.

I'm using SX3, and having a little trouble mixing down to audio.

I am mixing down just 5 tracks,

Drum vsti
bass vsti
synth vsti
synth vsti
and 1 track of audio - guitar.

When I mix these down I find that the audio guitar track is not included in the resulting wav. Any ideas why?

I've checked the obvious and no, it is not muted at all. :help:

currently working on this project and would love some help??

Also using SX 3.1 but till now never had this problem.
Please make sure all tracks are routed to the same output (Master Out in my case).
Try the following: Solo the audio track and make an audio mixdown on Master Out. Is the guitar there?

Hope you can sort it out...

Marcouk - I've been having this problem with Nuendo 3.1 where, for some reason, in the Export Audio dialogue a Bus other than the usual "Bus 1" is selected. Check the Output part of the dialogue, I bet it's set to the wrong output.

No luck :?

The mono audio track (guitar) IS routed to my main stereo Master Out bus.

I've tried muting everything else on the mixdown, except for the guitar, but, it still does not record the guitar audio onto the mixdown wav.

Thing is, from the main SX project window, i can see that the guitar signal is going to the master bus, its just that is does not record on mixdown?

Do you have any effects on the guitar track? If so, try disabling them and trying again.

Post

Tried that. No luck :(

Really weird :(

I've no other ideas I'm afraid

/is useless

I'm using an Audiophhile 24/96 card as well. Not sure if it may be an issue with that?

Post

Don't know what could cause this problem, but have you tried copying the guitar part to a new track?

Post

That's really strange! :?:

Another try: download the plugin "tape-it" (tape-it 1 is free), you can find it here on kvr under the effects section.
Then insert this vst in an effect slot of the main output. tape-it can record the output directly to an wav file. Is the guitar there?

Post

Right. Through hours of trial and error I have sorted it. :D

And the answer is simple: -

For some reason, it will not record the audio track to a mixdown IF it is the selected track in the main project window (ie, it thinks you are about to record another event on that track).

I wonder if this is usual? Anyone wanna try a mixdown with one of your audio tracks selected?

Either way, thanks God its sorted, a real pain in the ass, and your help is much appreciated.

Oh, I see...

Maybe the difference is wether the Monitor button of the specific track is enabled or disabled?

Anyway, glad you're sorted!

yep.. i suspect the monitor button too.. or prob the record enable button , which was on during the mixdown process.... its got nuttin to do with the track being selected :)

Yup. It's the Record enable button. Been there, and found this out myself the hard way. If I would have been around yesterday, cudda sorted you out in seconds
