I've just regained consiousness after passing out from seeing the price of this plug -- $399!

Here many of us are complaining about the price of the Arts Acoustic reverb ($189), and this one comes along :-o :-o  :o

Geez, for that kinda dough, the CSR-1 will seriously have to blow the AA and R66 reverbs out of the water.

Well, we will see... :?

For that price you could already get a TC powercore which has the excellent classic verb in it. So yeah, IK really has to deliver to justify that price (somehow I doubt they will, never been such a big fan of IK stuff, another one of those 'pretty gui, mediocre sound' companies IMHO!).

Cheers!

Holy crap! I can buy a brand-new Lexicon MPX550 for that! :-o  :-o

Somebody in that company is smoking dope, I have serious doubts that it's going to be worth that much money.

I'm sure it will be top notch sounding, i'm also pretty sure that it is a little excessive on the old price front.
To justify anywhere near that price I reckon they should have included a few more algorithm's (a nice spring for instance?) & it would need to be very sparing on the old cpu also, very tightly coded.
I'm sure it will sell a few simply due to the 'brand name' factor & the fact that it looks nice & shiny.
Then i'm a tight fisted twat & I buy very little software, I use what i've already got & a lot of excellent freeware (which for my personal tastes not only rivals, but has in a few cases outshone commercial offerings I have demo'd).

but if they hold what they say this will be the first and the last vst reverb I`ll ever need. And if soundquality is good it is easily worth every cent it will cost....

In advanced mode up to 50 parameters and all controllable by modulator.... that will kick every convolution reverbs butt!!!
because the reverb can move and thats what makes a reverb sound alive and not "static" like the convolution tools....

I want to put my fingers on the demo.... where is it?
ehhhhhhh

but there is noo waranty that 50 parameters sound good, there are other reverbs like spinaudio, that have many parameters and do not sound perfect....

Post

this will be the first and last reverb... until 2 months from now, when something new comes out. 399$ is serious money.

I am patiently awaiting the moment for some dumbass who has allready bought or preordered this software to come on this thread saying how 399 is way worth it because they would hate to admit the fact that they just dumped this amount of dough on this or another verb with less features.
"IK makes top quality stuff man"
"Im a pro producer and I know a good algo when i hear one"
"When you consider how much the hardware versions would cost this is actually a good deal"

... All phrases of buyers remorse.
The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

Don't know about this reverb. I think T-Racks is ok (only seen it at my friend's studio), but didn't like sample tank too much. I don't think I need a new reverb either so thinking about speding 3-something on one is out of the question right now.

Yes this is a hugely popular argument it seems when discussing IK stuff.. It is, of course, totally irrelevant when discussing software. :)

I'm expecting Squids to chime in any minute and tell us that it's actually underprized... :hihi:

Don't know if it will be worth the price as a stand-alone; but it's good marketing for IK even if it doesn't sell well. CRS-1 technology will probably appear in a lot of future IK products. The $399 price tag for CRS-1 will make products that include it seem like quite a bargain.

hm..what does a reverb do?
I have never heard of this "re-ver-b" thingy before :?

A triumph of greed over sanity. I expect it is challenge/response protected, so any sucker who pays for this can expect installation and authorisation problems, and possibly the product will cease to work in the short term future, and if they upgrade their PC hardware they can get screwed.

Without a doubt, this product will be cracked and the only people who will enjoy this product will be the hacker community.

This sort of lunacy inspires me to invest in a good hardware reverb.

what a kiddy discussion here, about shitty software, cracks and hacks, ......

we`ll have to wait and see what this software can do.... if it is equal to high-end reverb machines, then and ONLY then it is worth the 399 and even more....

but if it is another vst toy with about 50 parameters like most other vst effects.... its not much more worth than 100...

lets see.......
