I'm wondering how Reasons RV7000 stands up to the reverbs listed, do any of those VSTs come close to the Propellerheads workhorse?

Kjaerhus Classic is excellent. I find that it can do huge spaces - almost infinate - very easily. The secret is in the damping. Try this: Kjaerus Classic, maximum room size, no damping, set the Hi Damp at 50%, no predelay, no early reflections. This will be outrageously long - so adjust the lenght with a small amount of damping.WilliamK wrote:I just tested the Kjaerhus Classic, and its very good indeed. Its listed as "Classic Reverber" here at KVR. Just a shame that it doesn't do long-spaces. As the CPU usage is indeed very low compared to the quality of the audio.

If you set it up like this, and then compare it with R66 - I think you will find that the freebie Kjaerus Classic is a serious contender for replacing R66.
R66 basically uses two reverb sections, so you could use two instances of Classic (or couple Classic with another reverb) to create huge complex reverb tail.
Some the 'grainy' sounding reverb actually make good early reflections but lack smooth tails. Classic has a very smooth tail, but I don't like the early reflections. So put two together.
ArtsAcoustic has a fantastic GUI, and is my favorite VST reverb. You can do a lot with all the freebie reverbs, but it's nice to have one powerful one that is so versatile.

the kjaerhus classic reverb is great (VERY hardware sounding) but is too springy for my taste. IT sounds like reverb from a vintage quitar amp (though that's what some are aiming for)
i love ambience do to its flexability

Just tested more ArtsAcoustic Reverber (http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1725.html)
And I must say, I'm VERY impressed. Uses a bit more CPU usage than GlaceVerb, but you hear why.
Deft my number one now.
