Up to and NOT including Let's dance I would almost agree, even though I never thought the dressing up bit was impressive.Manc Chris wrote:No-ones mentioned Bowie because he's the ultimate rockstar, who deserves every bit of praise ever afforded him.
Who's overrated?

Im not really impressed with the music, not that I find it that bad either.Hovmod wrote:Up to and NOT including Let's dance I would almost agree, even though I never thought the dressing up bit was impressive.Manc Chris wrote:No-ones mentioned Bowie because he's the ultimate rockstar, who deserves every bit of praise ever afforded him.
But you gotta give the man credits for his movies!
fx http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091369/ where he plays a goblin king, wearing speedos/tights whatever, the whole time, flaunting the young audience with his package.
That deserves respect!

Nevermind the Sexpistols. Iggy and the Stooges were highly overrated.......the unwitting inventors of the Punk scene!.......And Franz Ferdinand aren't a bunch of C****s. Some of'em are C***t haters and the others would like to have one of their own! They're deffinitely overrated.......Ferdinand and The Stooges, that is!

umm... what about them glam rockers? [never did get into that glam thang! I mean, KISS's axeman had a guitar that shot off rockets! Me? I'll always vote for a regular Clapton or SRV-type guitar hero anyday!]
were they overrated? Or is it that in these hyper-realistic days, they've been forgotten altogether?
also, i heard somewhere that Pantera used to be a glam-rock band once
. is that true?

audioslave...
i really can't stand those guys, except for the singer, cornell. he's ok. the others are just plain overrated.
TOOL, and all things Maynard.
i like them fine, and Perfect Circle is good, and there are some interesting and even important things that are expressed in his/thier music, but;
EVERY stoner i have ever met worships them like gods. Smoke some green with any of them, and it's like, you better hope there isn't a Perfect Circle, or Tool cd kicking around, because the next hour will be listening in closed-eyes, euphoric awe to the aural prophesies of almighty tool, maynard be praised.
amen.
ya know?

Getting stoned to Tool? Man, that doesn't sound right. Back in my daze, people'd would "smoke some green" and listen to mellow stuff, like Beck or just some blues album. But getting stoned to Tool? heck, what do they do afterwards, stone one another? Tool sounds umm..."cool", primarily because their vocalist doesn't sound like every other metal frontman. and that's a sort of "disagreement" that makes 'em sound cool. Tool. Cool. But that's only my personal opinion.

Amen. BTW, i just finished re-reading this novel [well, a disjointed novel] by Kurt Vonnegut called Hocus Pocus and the last line of that book would go very well with vurt's post.vurt wrote:"the human race..."
It's as follows:
"Just because some of us can read and write and do a little math, doesn't mean we deserve to conquer the Universe".
Like i said, "Amen".

Wicked book! I'd say Kurt Vonnegut's most underrated, if not his best!Lazarus Machine wrote:Amen.
