Who out there is using the behringers V amp 2?
I intend to buy one for bass and one for guitar,
but for not much more I could get amplitube 1 w/ free upgrade to 2.
I basically just want to know if people are happy recording with the behringers.
Thanks

I don't know if they sound that bad, i remember my johnson J-station sounding fine to me.
I don't think my card (aardvark 24/96) has Hi Z inputs for a bass or guitar.

hah Its great isnt't it,, The reaction Behringer gets!! I mean I dont have 1 piece of Behringer stuff, BUt I have heard decent things about the V-amp although I am completely against basically all amp sims,, but if comprimise is the game then I bet you would be happier with the Behringer, than software,, there is always something slightly better with hardware.. ANd the thing with Behringer is they aren't bad pieces of equiptment at all,, ITs the actual Hardware that is cheap,, THese things will break faster than any other piece of equiptment,, but how many people in big studios have a pioece or 2 of the Tube Ultragain or Tube Compressor,, I know of quite a few,, So that says something about Behringer having a unique niche in the audio production world,, They have some real decent stuff, and the V-amp is probably no exception and for what $125 to $200 for the rack mount, TO me it is "c'mon."

I have heard only good things about the B's V -amps.
I looked around and I would have to buy some sort of Hi Z input for my sound card as well.

My Behringer V-amp 2 is one of the best musical purchases I have ever made.
The fender and marshall amp simulations are great. I don't go for the overt soldano crunch stuff that come with it, but they are fairly authentic as well. Combine those with some DAW processing, and you can get huge guitar sound.
The V-amp is one product where I think Behringer brought cool innovation where many of their products are rightfully claimed to be copies of competitor products. Specifically, the user interface on the V-Amp is really nice if you have to play in low-light conditions. Most of it's rotary controls are shaft encoders, and the position of the shaft is indicated by LEDs surrounding the shaft. Very easy to tell if the amp/effect combination that is currently selected is what you expected (if you haven't memorized what the various presets are going to sound like)
If Behringer continues to bring products like the V-amp to guys like me who have 4 kids to feed, then I say loudly: "Long Live Behringer".
I'll probably get banned for that last comment....

Check one out first at a store if you can. You may want to buy just the Bass V-amp. It has both Bass guitar and electric guitar amp simulations.dusted william wrote:sweet,
Now I really can't wait... They go for $99.00 at zzounds.

If it were available when I was shopping a few years ago, I would have bought that one - It has most of the electric guitar simulations that I use on my V-amp 2, pluss some bass and acoustic guitar settings that I could really use now that I bought an electric bass.

Comparing the original Bass Pod Pro against the Bass V-Amp Pro, the Pod sounds significantly deeper, more three dimensional, & amp-like. In the Behringer's favor, the bass synth tracks really, really well, it's definitely something to consider if you'll use this feature. The guitar versions both sound pretty fake, IMO, as does Amplitube 1, so I've never bothered trying them head-to-head.
I think we've got some V-Amp Pro's getting blown out for around $160. If you ask my opinion, though, I'd recommend finding a used Pod Pro for around the same price.
